Feel privileged to have grown up along side George Michael. I'm 53 and was a huge fan from day one. What so many overlook is that George didn't have a hit machine behind him. He wrote, composed and arranged all of his work. Not even Sinatra did that. George was a musical genius.

He had perfect pitch. Never hit a wrong note in his life. He had such a beautiful voice and had such control...... he could make it soft or strong, and it was always sexy. He owned the stage. 80,000 adoring fans were eating out of his hand the second he appeared on the stage. Seeing him perform live was exhilarating. I miss him. No one compares.

If there is any concert performance that I truly wish I could have attended, it’s this concert, this song. The way he poked fun of trying to modernize it only to revert to the fantastic original production elicits such joy and an ability to be transported to my teenage self. He may not have gotten the attention that more prolific artists of his caliber received. But the choices that GM made at the height of his career in the US were intentional. He was just as popular in Europe in the 90’s as he was in the US in the 80’s, that was not a mistake. He definitely had the credit and the respect of his peers (Elton John, Stevie Wonder). His music catalog is there for the discovering on YT. It’s up to us to seek it, and his legacy, out.

Incredible performer and the best voice ever!!! This man's talent was so far ahead of the rest, and it is so sad to think he no longer is here. I am so grateful that I saw him twice in concert. Through the 80's, 90's 2000's his music has lived in my house. Other signer pale in comparison. I love him so much and forever will be grateful that he selflessly shared his extra ordinary talent with us all. He truly left the best gift anyone could long for.

Not many people would realise this if they did not know my son as they think he does not understand. But if you put George Michael on in his own way he tries to sing along.
