One of my friends lived across the street from George Michael in Beverly Hills. He told me George was one of the kindest, nicest people he ever met - very down to earth despite being such a massive star. They would play chess and discuss the world. I agree but must add that George wasn’t honest about who he was from the start (1981). He portrayed himself as a straight man / sex symbol until he was busted for soliciting sex in a public bathroom (1998). As a fan, it didn’t feel good to be lied to for nearly two decades; he brought a lot of the critiques upon himself because of it. I love his music and videos; he absolutely deserves the Hall of Fame; just wish he hadn’t been deceptive to the people who made him famous by buying his albums and image.

@@kmart3453 Some do seem to chase after gay guys, I agree. I never ever could figure that out.
@legacy41795 жыл бұрын
@@Pulse87dotca There are three primary reasons straight women peruse gay men. First: Gay men are non-threatening/safe. Second: Gay males commonly have finer tastes in clothes/shoes/interior decor/food-- and just about everything else-- over the abilities of most females. Third, and most intriguing: Gay males present a sexual challenge for straight females (especially females who perceive themselves as being "ALL THAT AND A BAG OF VEGAN BBQ CHIPS." These are the females who seem to be under some misguided and delusional impression that they can turn gay guys straight with their "special, one-of-kind" vaginae.
@Pulse87dotca5 жыл бұрын
@@legacy4179 Hmm, I guess my initial comment pointing out to the O/P that G.M. is gay was so offensive that someone reported it and YT removed it. . . . speech police are at it again. Your 3rd reason makes a lot of sense, as there are women who will instantly go for the "troubled bad boy" with the aim to "fix him", but they usually end up going through a series of unhappy relationships with a long string of "bad boys" who simply don't want to be "fixed".

As a kid in the 80's I was 100% obsessed with him. I had door posters, vinyls, T-Shirts and over 130 pics of him from Teen Beat and Pop! and displayed them all during 4th grade "show and tell". 😂 George was, is and always will be glorious!

My idol, always has been since the Wham days. Saw him on the Faith tour, Sydney '88, his energy on stage reminds me of Freddie Mercury, they both knew how to get the crowd eating out of their hand, involved and actually becoming a part of the concert. A soulful voice, very good looking and he could dance. Moe mai rā e te korokoro tui.

AJ K I was watching his 1990 documentary yesterday, and it showed behind-the-scenes footage of him in the studio recording his second solo album, Listen Without Prejudice. He was movin' and groovin' in the recording booth as he recorded the album. ☺

Mary Ann Virella Yes! It feels like a piece of your life is taken away when we lose these artists! I think it hits us so hard because we're faced with our own mortality. Whatever it is, it's a very discomforting feeling to lose pieces of your past like this.
