after watching the Wham documentary and listening to the music again and hearing the story, I really feel so sorry for Andrew Ridgeley. He was the driving force in the beginning and really got them their moment and then let George shine and yet everyone ragged on him as just riding George's coat tail. He was pushed to the side for no reason other then George was becoming a star. That must have been difficult for him and then to see him through the years he was and has always been a class act. I wish his story was a bit different for how nice of a person he was and all that he did to get George to come out of his shell!

its not a rivalry between them both... if you watched the documentary properly you would know that andrew was extremely supportive of george's solo work and let him shine, as they had a very loving and supportive friendship.

The documentary shows that without him there wouldn't have been a George Michael and let's not forget that he is a co-writer to his biggest song. It was interesting to see how he was deemed a troublemaker in school - and he probably was as well - yet he volunteered to look after the shy new kid with a weird name. George's parents may have been right, as he wasn't the greatest influence, but he was the best friend their son could ever have.

This Native American Black Woman has adored the energy of beautiful George Michael and Wham since early childhood. This summer I rediscovered this song. It's beautiful, soulful, pop and he is just beautiful and so is Andrew Riegely. I just realized Pepsi and Shirley are apart of Wham. George Michael has done duets with Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin etc... I really wish music and styles would go back to the 80's! People were so beautiful!! ❤ Everything appears to be a lost cause today! #Musicofthe80s #Beautifulartists The hair, the earring, the style, the music, the energy OMG!

written, produced, arranged, played every instrument when recording it and sang it....People keep saying Andrew was the driving force because he pushed them to form the band - fine but without GM, that group wasn't going to anywhere and, thankfully, Andrew knew it. GM would have found another path to where he went if it hadn't been with Andrew. I saw an interview he did in 1990 and he said he was working in his dad's restaurant as a young teen and hear a song on the radio and was the first time he thought, when listening to the melody in the song that he would have gone a certain different way and that he felt he could have written it better. I just watched the Wham docufilm on Netflix. I've got much more appreciation for them now. I didn't get into music until 1987 and didn't really pay any attention to George Michael until I heard some of his solo stuff in the 90s. His demise is very sad. He should still be around now making terrific music.

It's touching to know Andy was so humble. He never resented George's success, even when Wham were together.

@@dougodyssey50 I think he appreciated that George had to grow to take his talent further. Very selfless.

Never listened to much Wham! As I assumed it was just teeny mega-pop. But this song is freaking savage. And George absolutely kills it. It’s crazy how this song is so 80’s but still sounds fresh. Hasn’t aged a day.

When Make It Big came out, my sister had the album on CONSTANT rotation in her tape deck, not to mention in her bf's car. I cringed because I thought it was the cheesiest stuff I'd heard. Now! I can't get enough of George's lyrics. And that's due to the solo work he did AFTER Wham! Simply brilliant
