I'm still watching this amazing performance every day. This was definately the best performance in Idol history. I watched the whole show and George's vocals were superior (even with a cold). He sings this powerful song so tenderly and with such emotion it brings me to tears. He's so talented and generous. Like I said before, beautiful song, beautiful man. I have rediscovered my love for his music from this inspiring performance. I wish he was touring closer to where I live. Love him!

And I love how he doesn't sanitize his songs for radio nowadays when performing live and says Jesus in several of them, not just Jesus to a Child. He is truly the greatest vocalist, songwriter, producer and performer of the past 30 years.

I was blown away by this performance, best in all of Idol history! Beautiful voice, beautiful song, beautiful man! I can't stop listening to it. The way he sings it now with the simple music is more heartfelt than the studio version. No comparison to Carrie's performance. BTW, George is a big philantrophist and very generous!

I have to have a bone marrow transplant soon & I will be listening to all his soothing songs while in there to keep my mind off the procedure & while in my room recovering. I listen to this every day for inspritation. He's a true musical genius. Met him in '89 & cherish the picture I had taken with him. Such a gentleman, kind & gracious. He was on vacation in Mexico & still took the time to take a picture w fans. A day I'll never forget.

Actually, if you didnt see the show, before he sung he asked the audience to forgive his voice as he was sick with a nasty flu and wasn't even going to perform but pulled it together. He still had a exceptional performance even being sick with the flu. Great Job. I never knew what this song meant until that night it changed forever how I looked at George Micheal & stopped judging people and looked hard at myself in the mirror. Thank you for this song George. Thank you.

I'm not an American Idol fan or a huge George Michael fan, but tuned in when I heard he would be on the show. I was stunned by his emotional performance. Like someone else said, it was one of those songs that you don't want to end. I had chills. Bravo George!

Got to attend the show in Houston. We had such a great time! The crowd was dancing non-stop. George delivered a knock-out performance. And he can dance, too! Not bad for a 45 year old man. Vocals were incredible live. I have always said he is probably the best and most consistent live performer today-- and the Idol performance is proof of that. Amazing even with a cold! Humble, honest, socially conscious and delightful. Young stars of today need to watch and see how a true pro does it!

I previously missed the whole George Michael/Wham/troubled career/troubled life of this artist. But after seeing this emotional performance on AI; I was hooked. I still can't watch or listen without getting emotional. Beautiful song, great voice, and one of the best live performances to ever come from my TV. Bravo GM. I think George Michael is a great singer and also song writer. This song has got so much power in its lyrics that I can´t get why is it that some of us keep on arguing stupidity.
