This is - to me - the most beautiful stark description of either an episode - or, more - of depression and it brings me to tears every single time I hear it or even sometimes even recall some of the lyrics when I'm not even listening to it because it is so relatable, too relatable really, in expressing emotions in such a way that seems it is coming from my own mind. This and "Through" are, for me, his tunes that are expressions of the depression he often mentioned in his interviews over the years. I always so hoped he would find a healthy treatment for his depression and find some peace. I recall years ago when yet another reporter was probing him trying to get him to say he was gay (pre-1998), saying that fans just wanted to get to know him and George just said, if they want to know me, they need to just listen to my songs because they are autobiographical. Which is one of the reasons I cry each time I hear either of these two songs....💔

This is the most underrated song of George Michael. It didn't get the success it deserves
@rosamiller8687 Жыл бұрын
George was so selfless to bare his soul wide open for us to peak in. He was a beautiful songwriter and at any given time the listener could relate to the lyrics. Perhaps they arrived at a time when you needed to hear those words. Sometimes it was heart wrenching but somehow you needed it. George's music has accompanied me throughout my life. And I so dearly cherish it to this day. You will always be missed George Michael, but you certainly left a piece of you behind ❤

Brilliant comment Rose. I can completely relate to this. His songs move me like no others. The man was a genius.

He'd fallen at about 8 years old & hit his head on the stairs at school. If you look closely, his forehead is sunken in where he hit it. There's an almost perfect crescent moon scar. He hit his frontal lobe.where creativity is and sexual controls are there too. It changed everything suddenly he could practically hear how music should be written. He also suddenly was having issues with his sexuality. So, that's when he forgot about Entomology and suddenly wanted to be a pop star
@ChloeR-vt4bh5 ай бұрын
He did not hit his head on the frontal lobe and does not have a scar there. When he told this story on the Parkinson show he pointed to the top of his head towards the crown to indicate where he hit it. He said that it changed his interests from being fascinated by insects to being obsessed with music. He told how when he was washing up in his dad’s restaurant at about age 15 he heard a song on the radio and realised that he could have written the melody better than the original. He never attributed his sexuality to the bang on his head. He didn’t have issues with his sexuality at age 8!

Frontal lobe is responsible for voluntary movement, impulse control, organisational abilities, social interaction - nothing to do with your sexuality. George only recounted the story of banging his head to indicate how it totally changed him in that his interests led him to music and changed the course of his life. His feelings about his sexuality began manifesting much later.

Thoughtful autobiographical lyrics. Never heard such profound self reflecting words coming from an artist as these.

Well, you've given us another wonderful video. Love It, keep them coming! Your videos are nothing but a delight, & are much appreciated. George looks so good here. And of course, his voice is always terrific. You've captured George's essence musically. But we all know what George's essence is! Your talent in blending these different scenes so smoothly is fantastic! You know how George's music can affect you in different ways every time you hear It. Well, this time for me is very personal. In fact, this should be my life story, sadly! I never quite heard this in that way before but, It really is. I believe that's part of George's magic! With his heart, he touches your soul, & that's really saying something, at least for me. So anyhow, Thanks for your video, It really touched me tonight. It always does be again, you never know what George has in store for you at any given time, Ya! That's why George is my little piece of heaven, Truly! What a Blessing! 🕯😇💖

Take my life Time has been twisting the knife I don't recognize People I care for Take my dreams Childish and weak at the seams Please don't analyze Please just be there for me The things that I know Nobody told me The seeds that are sown They still control me There's a liar in my head There's a thief upon my bed And the strangest thing Is I cannot seem to get my eyes open Take my hand Lead me to some peaceful land That I cannot find Inside my head Wake me with love It's all I need But in all this time Still no one said If I had not asked What you have told me If you call this love Why don't you hold me? There's a liar in my head There's a thief upon my bed And the strangest thing Is I cannot seem to get my eyes open Give me something I can hold Give me something to believe in I am frightened for my soul Please, please Make love to me, send love through me Heal me with your crime The only one who ever knew me We've wasted so much time So much time So much time
