He knew that he had a talent that was a godly gift. But as all of the greatest artists, he was his most mercilessly critic himself. One can even see it when he sings, that he handles each note like the most important note of his life. All great artists are like that. The worst are usually the ones, who are convinced that they are doing perfectly fine.

As a Beatles lover, I can not relate to this particular view at all. nobody plays the Beatles' songs better than the Beatles did. Your statement is usually true of when a decent band covers a manufactured pop song like a britney spears one or something, and then you realise that the songs are acturally well made and it was actually just the image or connotation of the manufactured boy/girlband that was obstructing your judgment
@keep_walking_on_grass8 ай бұрын
@@annehajdu8654I'm Paul's biggest admirer and this is his song, but in terms of their songwriting qualities, the Beatles as a whole are a phenomenon. A miracle. Many of their songs are covered by big stars and they are always incredible covers like Santana's while my guitar gently weeps or Aerosmiths come together or Michael Jackson's version. Pat Methenie's instrumental of And I love her. And countless more. I only see this phenomenon with the Beatles. Their songs are all classics without exception. They are the greatest band ever for a reason. Edit: Earth Wind & Fire Got to get you into my life.

At the age of 65, I genuinely think that George was the greatest singer I ever heard! I've always loved Pavarotti, Marvin Gaye, Nat Cole, and Tim Buckley, but George's recordings of Song to the Siren, and the live version of The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face are amazing.

Different singers. Mario Lanza was superb , George was a pop star. Marvin Gaye a soul singer ( he was superb too ) Nat Cole different again while George was good the guy out of the rightouse brothers had a superb voice one of the best I’ve ever heard. The note he could reach were superb …

as someone who went through the 80s, in the age of unbeatable music where the giants absolutely crush what we are given today, he is one of the top icons of that age..... i wish he were still alive.

The best version. Angelic voice of George M, no auto tune, no remaster, no enhancements. Just pure sweet raw vocals
