As much as I LOVE David, this is not a Bowie cover. It was recorded by Johnny Mathis, Nina Simone and many others. It's a 1957 Academy Award nominated song from the film of the same name...written by Ned Washington and Dimitri Tiomkin.

Bowie’s version is also a cover. It was written in 1957 by Dmitri Tiomkin & Ned Washington as the theme song for a film. The original performance is by Johnny Mathis. It’s been covered many times, but I agree that Bowie’s is best. I am a huge Nina Simone fan and adore her version as well, but David Bowie takes the cake!
