Mildred was a great foil for George. Mildred was always immaculately dressed ...good manners and etiquette: They were a great team working off each other, tremendous timing, great lines and simple good humour.👏👏👏

I rediscovered this show only last week. I loved it when I was a child, was very much unaware of the class differences highlighted in it. In some ways Mildred reminds me of Hyacinth Bucket, pronounced Bouquet, but George is a lot more vocal than Richard and unashamed of who he is.

I understand it's a comedy and I like watching this again because I used to watch this with my nan and granda in the 70s when I was 11-year-old. But Brian Murphy is now 91. So youtha Joyce said you will live till a 100. So he has only got 9 years LOL🤔🇬🇧.

Correction. The US made a version of the UK “Man About the House” - a show about a man sharing a flat with 2 women, with the Ropers being the landlords. This show is a spin off of the UK series that ended in 1976 (I think).
