I was privileged to work with George and Little Roy in 1974. I loved working with him. He was one of the funniest people I ever met. I wouldn't take anything for the experience. He was a wonderful singer and showman. We had a lot of fun off stage talking about events of the past. He deserves his place in the Hall of Fame.

This was the song that became me and my dad's favorite in the early 60's, we would sit outside in the evening, dad would play guitar and we would sing this over and over. I must have been 3 or 4 years old :-) So wonderful to find this old country gem!

My Grandaddy sang this song to me all the time growing up. I never realized it was a real recorded song until the late 80’s, when I was in high school and after he had passed away. So glad I was able to find this song on here, to listen to, and bring back all those wonderful memories. Love you Grandaddy.....❤️

Mr. Morgan's voice in itself is the main instrument and I love this version. There is a great tribute to him and Mel Tillis by their daughters Lorrie and Pam's version of her father's Burning Memories. Just sweet as they could sing them. God Bless

Ik you won’t believe me but my great grandmother originally wrote this song but her dad told her she would never be a singer and wouldn’t give her money to publish it so this guy got a hold of the lyrics and took the credit

Just a thought : if you like capo-less guitar playing then go to the Patrus53 channel ; it's a guitarists' nightmare. Good listening !PS : The Bill Haley version of this song is excellent too.
