My dad is 81 & on this Monday Oct, 25th 2021 he just lost his 4th child out of his 6 children. With everyone around he turned this song on & up blasting it as loud as it'd go & dedicated it to me & my lil sister Keasha (we're all he's got left bc cancer took my mom, his wife of 54yrs) but as it played he sang along crying til his face was soaked but never missing a word as he tried looking at my sister & I through his tears his awesome loved showed so❣ I love u daddy and ull always be my hero bc ure the strongest man ever to walk the Earth other than Christ who blessed us with the best of what he had when he chose u and mom as our beloved parent's❣ 🙏🏼❤🕊🤍😇 ♡♡♡~Shan~♡♡♡

I will be 60 in march and there is nothing better than the old country singers and music. My daddy and momma would have people over on weekends and we would roll up the rug, put down a little baby powder and I would be the record changer. Those were good times, hank, johnny, waylon, George, tanya, Loretta, kitty wells, ray price and porter wagner and so many many more. I would love going back to those days.

George was my grandfather's favorite. And I remember growing up, listening to him on the 8 track in the old Dodge truck when me and my granddaddy would go fishing. My granddaddy was a pretty quiet and simple man, but he would sing this to my mawmaw, and she would cry each time. I miss them both, as they raised me, and guided me over the years. If you're lucky enough, to find the kind of love, that they shared... don't waste a single moment, and always cherish your other half. Love them every day, like it would be your last, and tell them you love them, and how much you appreciate them. It's the simple things, that can always keep your hearts bound together!

I have photographed both Lorrie Morgan and George Jones. George's golden-white hair glistening in the theater lights made it difficult to keep your mind on concentrating that I was there to do a job; Jones was handsomely beautiful but Rodney Crowell asked for a picture of me and him "together." He had just divorced Rosanne and I was also recently divorced. I must have had a "brain freeze' because ... well... it just wasn't meant to be.

As the first President of The Keith Whitley Fan Club, I was visited and introduced to Ms. Morgan by Keith himself when they got into a discussion because she didn't want to sign her name on my 8 X 10 glossy of her as Lorrie Morgan Whitley, Keith said, "Hey! We just got married two days ago. You're now officially a Whitley." I had to laugh because Lorrie Morgan is Lorrie Morgan just as Carol S, Jeffrey is Carol Jeffrey!
