Former Dateline host and iconic Australian journalist George Negus has died aged 82.
He's remembered as a daring storyteller and sharp interviewer.
Negus worked as a high school teacher in Brisbane before beginning his media career writing for The Australian and The Australian Financial Review and was the founding host of the ABC's Foreign Correspondent program.
Negus famously interviewed the Muammar Gaddafi, Desmond Tutu, Tony Blair and Mikhail Gorbachev for Dateline.
He was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2015.
