Best seminar video to listen to in 2023. I listen to this before most of my shoots. The way George explains things makes my anxieties completely go away.

Regard weights on bars....i have had a lot of target panic and problem of command shooting and aiming in the low part of the yellow....well after a problem of flamed muscles on the back i have shoot my bow only without weights on bars.....after a week my aiming is a lot stadier, no target panic and good form and best scores....so what you say is absolutely true...

thanks for taking the time to post this.. as a barebow archer, who has also dabbled in recurve & is now playing with compound i've finally stumbled across your videos & what i'm learning is so relevant to all shooting styles. thanks!

Been shooting for 26 years . I enjoy listening to Mr. Ryals. There is always some knowledge gained that is crucial to improving something in your form. Archery is a constant evolution of learned skills that degrade slowly over time if you don’t stay on top of them.

30 years in recurve. 2 years in compound. I'm learning so much and what's even better, I can use my recurve technique as a reference to interpret your words. It's making me a better coach. Thank you for the talk.

I've been struggling with a niggle in my draw shoulder, never thought it would be a drawlength issue but I also have a fast, jerky pin float so I wonder if going a bit longer might be the thing? My elbow is also a little high.....Definitely going to try the tips out.
@georgeryals7 ай бұрын
Start with it a notch longer than you think and spend a day or so getting used to the feel and spreading out into it. Then when you shorten it a little you’ll know right away if you’re headed in the right direction. In my experience, people tend to shoot their draws a little on the short side.

How do you make up for your sight weight balance with no weight on stablizers
@georgeryals Жыл бұрын
you'll see it's not about balance of your gear. It's about correcting form for greatest stability. The sight is mounted so close to the centerline it isn't really that big of an issue.

Do you recommend any settings on travel and tension for the release? I’m just starting out with the thumb release and I find it shoots early. Pretty much instantly as I start to relax my hand and getting rotation. I’ve got the settings set to about half way. Maybe I’m relaxing my hand too quickly?
@georgeryals2 ай бұрын
I keep the tension around medium. I can easily touch it and set up my pressure without worrying about setting it off prematurely.

When you talk about stripping the weight off your bars to start, are you leaving the empty bars or removing them as well? Great presentation
@swampmom7507 Жыл бұрын
Sorry. Just heard the answer

I’m leaving the bars on. The bars on their own keep a similar behavior.
