Listening in 2024. I was there sitting right behind Salman Rushdie, a nice surprise. Paul Holdengraber was a fantastic curator for NYPL, missed by many people after he retired. I think he’s a great interviewer- able to put himself in the audience’s shoes. Key to keeping a running dialogue and making a connection with George Saunders who is in my opinion one of the greatest writers or this generation.

Listening in 2022! Thank you George, for being so generous with your time. I'm in awe that I listened through all 1-1/2 hours of talk!

This is a good interview, and there is new stuff here (if you are listening in 2019).

I think he was describing "flow" when he was describing how his writing is getting better..

I'm only four minutes into the interview and wish someone had a can of foam sealant for Paul.

Im not trying to bash on people with speech impediments but if you do have one, maybe dont conduct 1.5 hour interviews, or if you do. Dont talk that much.

Wow. But you just did. And it’s called an accent. You have one too.
