When i was growing up in the U.K durring the 70s we didnt have any Greek role models untill Kojak came along my cousins and i were so proud that there were Greeks on television.

Pretty good singer voice on him. Enjoyed seeing him and Telly on Kojak. George Played it like a natural cop, nice and cool and don't get excited.

I was one of George's backup dancers when he was performing in clubs in NYC. We went with him, in a limo, of course, when he performed on the Mike Douglas TV show in Philly. Wish someone had videos of his act.

@@dionbaia288 Yes,, had a great time, got to meet his brother and even went to Easter at his mom's house. I have tried to find the vidoe of the Mike Douglas show, but no luck!!

I have George Savalas record as well. I remember him making the tour in the 1970s promoting the album. He does a wonderful job!

Wonderfully atmospheric. Kojak occasionally dipped into their Greek culture and was a better show when it did.
