Slightly off topic, but I had to get this off my chest about Toronto fans voting for Vlad Jr. to go to the All-Star Game: I would vote for Josh Naylor. If you're a fan of the game as opposed to blindly voting for your hometown player, Josh Naylor (19 HR, 54 RBI, .498 SLG, .820 OPS) is clearly having a much better year than Vlad Jr.

Meanwhile, Justin Turner seems to be more focused on what his "buddies" in the Bosox dugout think of him. KK seems more concerned if Reese McGuire is OK after one of his swings 'knicks' the catcher's glove than he is about his atrocious swing decisions. Once again we make a struggling, shaky pitcher (Bello) look like an ace. And hey, didn't Orelvis Martinez look great in that clip of him in BP? Now the team is off to Cleveland and Boston. Why did they bother calling Martinez up and not feature him in front of the home crowd? Clement on the bench? Oh boy.

Donnie Baseball is too savvy to be influencing JS to make these moves and to keep trotting out KK and Springer. For some reason, JS feels an obligation to Springer. There are still too many voices in the hitters ears even though it is supposed to be one voice. Even Edwin Encarnacion is in the ears of the hitters. If anything it may be Demarlo Hale, the Associate Manager who is in the ear of JS

10 games ago Springer was batting .203. He is now batting .197. If you were getting hot wouldn't your batting average be going up. I mean he was leading off the first 40 games.

They continue to run out the same players every single game....another lost tonight. Springer with the bases loaded in the 9th and of course.....double play. That tells you how Springer has been all year long. An instant out really. But again, runners in scoring position with less then 2 outs and continues to not cash them in. A broken record almost every single game. We are at the end of June and they are 4 games under 500. They are not good period. There isn't anything more to say about this team. They are terrible. Head coach gone....GM gone, need fresh eyes.....team needs to make moves that make sense to make the team stronger. Not minor league signings that mean squat. That is what has to happen. Until anything is done, this is the Blue Jays team with not really a future for success. Sad times.

I don't think anyone believes Springer is getting hot - he's just saying this to justify putting him in the lineup. They needs to try to salvage some of the 150mil contract - can't send him to AAA, can't just DFA him and eat 75mil?
