I've seen things that I can never forget, and I've seen incredible heroism from people just doing their job, and I have nothing but respect, great respect for those who put themselves in harm's way for us. Every year, I attend the Law Enforcement Service to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

I had never heard this one before and I absolutely love it! The only thing that would have made the video better is if they included EMTs/Paramedics as well. They often get overlooked. To add to it is that 70% of firefighters (it's lesser but still the majority of EMTs are as well)are volunteers. So it's also fundraising, training, etc on top of responding to fire calls. It's extra time away from our families. Shout out as well to 911 call takers and dispatchers as well as Emergency medical staff at hospitals, nurses in pediatrics, oncology, hospice, etc. That takes one hell of a toll as well.

As a nurse worked 30 years, I’ve taken care of several police and firefighters. Most were injured by persons they were trying to help. Anyone who cares for or takes care of people, you always think of the people you interact with at night and for years after.

As a former paramedic, the daughter of a firefighter, the wife of a firefighter, and the sister of a law enforcement officer, I understand some of the sacrifices made. By those who choose to serve. Great choice for this Memorial weekend.

My husband just retired after 25 years .... this song hits home. We've lost 3 very close friends in 8 years. He would come home and the kids were sleeping and I could tell it was a rough one,,, because he'd pour a strong 3 finger...... but he'd get up and do it again. It's hard when they retire.... he sees our son putting on his uniform and his ears perk up lol uggg I'm done typing..

I can honestly say from wearing one of those 4 oz pieces of tin. The weight takes a toll. Rolling up on crime scenes of vehicle fatalies, notifying parents, wives, husband's. Responding to domestic violence, child abuse cases, and not putting the subjects head thru a wall. It takes a special person to carry that weight, and when they take off that badge, that uniform, they are still carrying rhat weight.

@Stephen Carroll, awesome song as usual and gorgeous bottle and evidently awesome bourbon you hand picked. Guess what, I finally tried some bourbon tonight : Evan Williams Honey Bourbon. I will say I’m not a fan of that particular bourbon, it was a burn yuck on the front of the palate and a burn my tongue and throat all the way down. I took a big sip and a little sip to see if there was a difference and I couldn’t tell any flavors at all and definitely no honey taste. I’m not completely discouraged, I will try others
