Well, to actually get the virus you have to be exposed to it longer than a second. Remember the stories when the virus first hit of people that had gotten it after dinner at a restaurant where someone infected was also eating? That's because the air indoors allows for the virus to circulate and exposure of enough of the viral load to occur to get infected. That's why they allowed outdoor dining because that lowers the risk. However, the risk is also mitigated by spacing them out for most of the interview. That initial 2 second hug wouldn't produce enough viral load for a person to get infected. This is coming from a person that has been through medical school. What they are doing makes sense to the educated, but not to the laymen out there.

That's not really how coronavirus worked in the first place. Hugs were never an issue. It was extended contact in a closed space. Basically if you breathe in the same air for long enough then you can get it. That's why eating outside together was mostly okay. Hugs also only are a split second thing. The risk is pretty low because they immediately backed away from each other. It's true that some of the virus could transfer from their clothing, but the receiving person would have to rub their hand on it and then manage to put it in their eye or breathe in the viral particles. The chances of enough of the virus making it through all those transfers is slim to none. So...why did they tell people they couldn't hug? Most people don't understand how to do it safely. They did it safely here. They hugged in an outdoor setting and immediately backed off. If you would like a more scientific breakdown I could go into greater detail. Source: I went to medical school.

@@Marshall-uy2dv yeah, worst ever. Lowest unemployment ever for all races of Americans, Rebuilt the military after Obama & biden ran it into the ground. Brought us from 2 war to 7, they dropped so many bombs the military ran out of them. Trump is the only president that can claim 4 middle east peace treaties, two of which are up for Nobel peace prizes, that sure does sound like the worst. So bad that the potato in office now is reverting back to the Trump polices.

@@clm7381 You apparently do not consider the murder of over a million people in Iraq under false pretenses a war crime. That is exactly the attitude that has allowed him and his "allies", aka stooges, to get away with murder!
@clm73813 жыл бұрын
@@interestedobserver9352 First of all, in retrospect I agree that going into Iraq was a mistake because it inadvertently created ISIS, and because the war is expensive. However with that being said, it was not started on false pretenses, we know that Saddam Hussein did at one point have chemical weapons, which are a weapon of mass destruction, he used them on Iran during the Iran Iraq war, and he also used them on the Kurds in 1988. We know that he was always worried about Iraq being invaded, and he was seeking nuclear weapons, as a deterrent against his enemies, but he failed up to that point to acquire them; so that being the case I don't believe that he would have gotten rid of his chemical weapons, just because the UN weapon inspectors couldn't find them, doesn't mean they weren't there, it means he moved them around. Also people like to say that Bush LIED about weapons of mass destruction being in Iraq, but he was going off of intelligence that the CIA gave him, which said they were there.
@interestedobserver93523 жыл бұрын
@@clm7381 I just want to say that what bothers me most is that this is typical of our attitude as Americans who have managed to distance themselves from the mayhem our government causes. This war was a "mistake" because it "inadvertently created ISIS" (which, by the way, led to our waging another war in Syria!) and because "the war is expensive". Nowhere in that reasoning is there even a mention of 1.5 million innocent lives lost (ours and mostly theirs). I would have put that as a primary reason why this war was a "mistake", not something that isn't even worth a mention. BTW a "mistake" is when you put too much salt in the pot or when you make the wrong turn ... but when an act results in the loss of even one innocent life, it rises to a higher level. We have become so desensitized to war (as a result of continuously being at war) that we no longer see that as an issue.
