Indeed! This is no longer about political parties. It is now about good vs evil. According to plan, there is now more falsehood in circulation than Truth; evil is believed to be good and good is seen as evil. One must learn to discern between good and evil which only comes from God.

Did y’all really hate him, or did you just love making fun of his verbal gaffes? “Breadwinners that put food on their family,” was a staple, part of the GW is dumb narrative. I don’t remember dems handling him with kid gloves after 9/11. I remember he was criticized for reading Pete the Goat. There was also considerable opposition to the invasion of Iraq, but once our soldiers were in harm’s way, that got turned way down. It's not that people don't think of themselves as Americans. It's that some Americans are fascists or racist, some are culture warriors, some are sexist, some are class warriors- all things which divide. The Owners of the Country play divide and conquer. They use the politicians and corporate owned media and the preachers and athletes to accomplish the goal. Low information voters combined with propaganda and misinformation make it easy. After decades of division people are starting to wake up. And this makes the divide and conquer crowd double down on their efforts. It is up to US to prevent that. Or freeing up money for infrastructure projects creating jobs and strengthening our communities? Or keeping us out of a war when the world went mad, and dictators took over countries left and right? Or perhaps refraining from anger, pettiness, and violent rhetoric after insurrectionists stormed our most sacred institutions of democracy, possibly staving off the beginnings of a civil war? I'm not trying to be rude, but besides building a quarter of a wall (I'm guessing, I can't remember how much of it wasn't completed), and lowering taxes for the rich and corporations, and (I'll give him credit here) increasing the standard deductions for 1040 taxes and EITC, what did Trump accomplish in his four years in office?

Very well said, Jenna. Unfortunately, because Trump and his cronies, this country will never be the same. As much as we'd all like it to be it never will. He's created a divide and a fracture that will never be repaired. Though I never voted for your father or grandfather, and didn't agree with them, I never felt like our democracy as a nation was at stake, or we as a nation were threatened in anyway. With Trump I do.
@ElinWinblad

From a personal standpoint, the only divide I saw was coming from MEDIA the few valleys I watched on TV of Trump. He always talked about coming together. He would hold up a pride flag at one of them and he was the only president that made a executive order to stop violence against the LGBT worldwide, but he was called racist for that, which is interesting and sad

I love jenna bush. Her dad, George and the Obamas represented unity between the parties that we don't see today. My heart aches for those days. However, the division between the parties wasn't due to Biden. Biden is a soft spoken good hearted man. If Mitt Romney was the former Republican president, It would be completely different Between the two parties. You have two gentle men. The division and harshness began when Trump took office. Republicans like Trump because he's a fighter, and that's what we have fighting in America. Unfortunately, yhe division and harshness won't go away now that Biden stepped down. It will continue As long as Trump or any MAGA that emulates Trump will keep it alive. And it will not go away unless Republicans choose a different different type of leader. One that is more professional, ethical, accountable, responsible, and wise. One who tries to find compromise and solutions between the two parties rather than division. But right now MAGA is preparing Kamela as their next target. Trump is getting his insults ready about Kamala, as we speak.
@nomanisanisland117

Thank you for this. Yes, divisons have always existed. But Trump allowed those to define our very laws (the Muslim ban, for example) to such an extent that he enabled a lot of people with previously QUIETLY divisive views to come out in public and express vile views with their full chest, things we never saw at a Bush rally. Let's not act like we can all just take a page from Joe Biden's book and sit at the dinner table with our MAGA relatives and be "the bigger person." He earned the privilege to make this decision, but it's still privilege.

Well said! I can't understand why his followers can't see through all the lies and manipulations. Even today, Trump had a chance to be different and show himself to be a better man, especially after what happened at his last rally. That's what his campaign people said he'd do. But did he? Nope! He just dialed up the petulance, nastiness, and insulting rhetoric, and it was so bad, you could actually see some of his supporters frowning and squirming behind him. That can't be a good sign! 😂

The loss of his son to brain cancer, another son charged with crimes and all the emotions that go through such events. I also believe that during debates the candidates should not be allowed to use the time to blast their apponents. Stop pointing fingers and talk about what your going to do. When they just point fingers it tells me they do not have a plan for improvement and are not capable of using their words productively. I also believe if every country who wanted to go to war required these old/middle age leaders and congressmen to be the first to stand in line with their own kids and grandkids we wouldnt have many wars would we?

I totally agree with what Jenna said. Her grandfather was fishing on a beach one day. Reporters were shouting at him for an interview. He turned around and said to them, "would you please just leave me alone and have my vacation, I'm a human being and I really need this right now. Have a good day." He was a decent, kind and down to earth person. I'm not republican, but seeing that on TV with Pres. Bush really made me think, yes... he is a human and that statement he made, really made me open up my eyes about things. It doesn't matter if you're red, white, pink or purple... It doesn't matter what religion you are or what political party you belong to... We're ALL human. This country needs to stop the mud slinging, the name calling and get on with what makes this country our home. As my dad once said, "You don't need to like the person, you need to respect the position he has." The name calling and putting each other down as got to stop!!!

The presidents that Jenna talks about are the men that gave it all to the country. I watched EVERY convention, BOTH parties since I was about 10 years old, (I'm 78) I watched every inauguration and was so proud, I visited DC when I was 19 and sat in the Senate Gallery and saw Teddy Kennedy, Howard Baker, and George Murphy. I watched the Watergate hearing front to back. I'd go into my sewing room right after dinner and work on a project while watching the hearings. Those men saw wrong and worked together to make it right, no fear, no favor. THAT is what we were until that orange pile came through the door and he didn't bust it, he was let in. There were cracks..Gingrich Contract With America was part of the beginning but we still had peaceful change of power. Then 2020 election and I never in my life thought that a POTUS would NOT attend the inauguration of his successor. Hideous. I dearly love Jenna Bush. She has had good parenting and more than that SHE is a smart, kind, loving person. I AM sorry, but I honestly cannot think of ONE good thing to say about Donald OR his spawn.
