I think problem is that MM's version of patriotism is much different than mainstream America. When MM tries to communicate his message of patriotism it typicality includes focusing on the negatives of America (Fahrenheit 911, Sicko, Bowling for Columbine, etc). Is America perfect? No, it is not. However, America certainly deserves more respect than MM gives it.

Late response but I honestly don’t think he directs his crap, Harvey Weinstein probably gave him a list of messages to enforce on behalf of White House friends to trick the public into putting on the chains themselves. In other words, controlled opposition.

With how things ended in Afghanistan this year, I feel that tragically the lives of those who were lost on 9/11 and in our 20 year fight on the War on Terror were in vain. It saddens me greatly and scared of our future. 😪 I support and believe strongly in Freedom, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness like our Founding Fathers' did and will fight to my last breath for it. God Bless America🇱🇷

How MM is handling Occupy Wall Street is another example. I am a true capitalist and I agree that greed can be bad. A CEO shouldn't lay off 30,000 because he's worried about the stock price. But greed can be a motivating factor for people to succeed.

I'm not sure MM or OWS understands the difference between greed and success. I don't want to be hated because I am successful. MM should be motivating the people of OWS to work hard and educate themselves rather than camping in a park expecting more entitlements.

For your information no actor has ever come close to portraying Washington as in-character as he was in this one scene. Those would've been his EXACT words to Michael Moore.

>Hello Mr. Moore, I'm a guy who owned hundreds of slaves, and I'm going to talk to you about freedom! Now, don't get me wrong, under capitalism, a successful business had to use slavery to survive, but I doubt it required this: ' "If you use your hand to eat, why can't you use it to work?" He would ship stubbornly disobedient slaves, such as one man named Waggoner Jack, to the West Indies, where the tropical climate and relentless toil tended to shorten life. Washington urged one of his estate managers persistently to keep an 83-year-old slave named Gunner hard at work to "continue throwing up brick earth". When the Potomac River froze over for five weeks in 1788, and with nine inches of snow on the ground, Washington kept them at exhausting outdoor labor, such as sending the female slaves to dig up tree stumps from a frozen swamp. After his own heading out during this unusually frigid weather to inspect his farms, Washington wrote in his diary that, "finding the cold disagreeable I returned". ' - Wikipedia Washington's only issue with slavery was that it might not be economical. To contrast, Jefferson, another slave owner, actively attempted to end slavery and genuinely believed it was immoral, so don't let Washington off the hook: "In his writings on American grievances justifying the Revolution, he attacked the British for sponsoring the slave trade to the colonies. In 1778, with Jefferson's leadership, slave importation was banned in Virginia, one of the first jurisdictions worldwide to do so. Jefferson was a lifelong advocate of ending the trade and as president led the effort to criminalize the international slave trade that passed Congress and he signed in 1807, shortly before Britain passed a similar law." - Wikipedia

@mr.hawklingiii87393 жыл бұрын
actually, the only issue Washington would have with Trump is his brashness and swearing, policy-wise Washington would agree with Trump about keeping the United States out of world affairs and putting America First. George Washington was not above yelling at those who did stupid things or making people who insulted him look foolish. People need to disabuse themselves of this false notion that President Washington was some meek and timid man, the man was a MILITARY COMMANDER who killed and issued orders. If you want to see an accurate portrayal of Washington, watch the show TURNED: Washington's Spies on Netflix

So.... was this overt propaganda... the type that so obvious you can't really say it's even worthy to be called propaganda of the military industrial complex and oligarchy? Was pretty corny... and it makes me think Washington became an demon from the abyss or something. And the spoof on Michael Moore was slap stick fall on a banana humor. They guy dressed as Washington looked pretty close, accent sucked though.
