You should have caked the wheel arch section of that new wing with Lithium white grease to prevent a repeat of rust.

That's a great little car, 3ltr engine in such a small car will never be seen again, great colour and xenon's too reminds my of my e87, recon you should go down the 6 series route .... 635d so you can show me how to fix it 😂

Great informative video 👏👏 I used Lothian when I needed to source a front wing for my Golf GTI Mk 5. It was a brilliant perfect fit & colour match - I would highly recommend them if you need a replacement wing. All I had to do was provide my car’s colour code.

Wow George, you got lucky there, the wing looks like a pretty good match. Before fully retiring nearly 2 years ago I worked for Euro Car Parts for 10 years, Tong Yang is their budget brand of wing. The up side, they are incredibly cheap, the down side, the majority of them were returned owing to poor fitment issues. As an example, I got a pair of Tong Yang wings for my E34. I went through 8 in total before I got a pair that weren't physically damaged, then I found out that they were about 10mm shorter than the originals! Needless to say they went back.

@@GeorgeAusters I guess it's luck of the draw George at the end of the day. I always thought, how would they ever sell any of these Tong Yang parts if they all didn't fit? I think the answer is that most of them were sent back by professional body shops who are less tolerant than the average home repairer.

FYI: Rust not a problem for the E92 and E93 they have plastic wings!

​Just had a look at their ebay listing. Very reasonable pricing but i did notice they already had an E90 front bumper in your paint colour so maybe you didn't need to send them a chunk of your car in the post😂@@GeorgeAusters

Excellent video and a job well done. I think I would however have tested the washer jets before putting everything back in place. Be nothing more annoying than having to strip it all down again when the new washer pump doesn’t work 😢

Ive got a one year older e81, n47 engines with 190k miles. Not a spot of rust on the whole body. Do you think it was driven without the liner for the dirt to get in ? Or the dirt came from the engine bay ?. Weird the otherside is ok too
