Merle's fate is something I'm conflicted about. On the one hand, i would've loved to have see what more then could've done with the character, but on the other hand, I also think he went out on the best note possible for his character. He went out doing the right thing, and the scene of Daryl finding him reanimated as a walker was so heartwrenching and tragic that idk if I'd want it any other way. That said, if he did survive, I honestly see him being Negan's first victim instead of Abraham. Great video as always, by the way.

The sequence of the scenes used for this ARE SO WELL DONE!!!! All of this sounds plausible and would definitely happen if Merle lived. However, at the Season 6 Episode 16/Season 7 Episode 1, where the lineup took place, I believe Merle would taunt Negan to the effect of, "YOU DON'T INTIMIDATE NOBODY!!! THIS IS THE LEADER OF THE SAVIORS? HELL, I'LL TAKE THAT BASEBALL BAT AND STICK IT WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE!!!! BUT JUDGING BY HOW SUSPECT YOU LOOK IN THAT LEATHER JACKET AND SCARF, YOU'D PROBABLY LIKE IT!!!!!" Daryl and Rick whisper for Merle to please shut up cause he's gonna get them all killed. At which point Negan walks up to him, looks down, and spits on him. Realistically I think Merle probably would have been killed or imprisoned during all out war. I think the only reason Eugene was kept around was because he’s so cowardly and weak that he would deem he wouldn’t have the strength to work as a double agent. Merle definitely could be seen as a double agent especially if he went and intentionally switched sides.

One thing i think you missed talking about was Gabriel and Meryl should having conversation about god and the bible, a call back to Hershel, maybe revealing that Meryl had pretty much read the whole Bible to memory, this would reflect Gabriel changes throught the series as he reflects on old testament and new testament passages in the walking dead.

Merles story always felt a little incomplete. I could see him living up until at least the claimers. In fact the claimers killing Merle could be the final deciding factor in Daryl's indecision about staying with Ricks group permanently Can we get a what if for Tyreese? I think his presence would influence a few key things-- Backing up Carls bid for peace in the savior war, him potentially being with Carl when he leaves to save Siddiq, having Carls back and thus saving his life as well, with him alive Sasha wouldnt be so keen to become a blood knight so she may live quite a bit longer too

i just donť think merle would ever want to make himself associated with other side again as Claimers or Negan... he just showed way too much that he clearly does anything best for his brother and his ineterests in just few episodes. He never chose to be with Governor, he just had nothing to choose. He would be as best as he can be, for sake he litteraly opens up on the things he done and how he widely regrets them, so from mine POV he would always stay loyal to better side no matter the cost and wouldn´t fall for those traps Negan or anyone else mentioned could throw at him... just like with the Governor. And the commonwealth story line was just somewhat weird for me, he wouldn´t just try to cause some random shit, he wasn´t like a shane.. this guy knows the hell´s he talking about. and also the main part being.. that with merle around, Daryl would have much less spotlight within the show and he would be mostly relying on Merle´s best instincts for the groups major decisions, Merle would just not be erratic and his arc wouldn´t have those flip-flops..

Both Merle and Andrea should have survived way longer into the story since they were great characters but that's just my opinion. A story about the dead coming back to life and having no good characters getting killed off isn't much of a story and unfortunately The Walking Dead slipped into that trap in the latter seasons - all the main characters had plot armor and they were never really in danger from being killed off. The early seasons of TWD were so much better.

I think Merle should've only focused on killing the Governor during his shootout, as he could've reasoned with the rest of the Woodbury men present that the Governor was a lunatic that needed to be stopped. Most of the Woodbury men that were present during that shootout developed a hatred for the prison, because they believed that the prison set up an ambush to kill all of them. If Merle had only focused on killing the Governor during that shootout, he could've possibly persuaded them to follow the prison's vision and either Merle or Martinez would've taken over Woodbury. Either way, a more stable leadership would've been better for both groups as the Governor was a lunatic who didn't care if people died and added to the zombie population. Putting Merle in charge of Woodbury would've made him not feel as an outsider, but give him the power, respect, and approval that he desperately needed. Martinez's leadership was relatively stable and I believe that he could've easily been persuaded to see that the other survivor's are not the threat but that the Governor was the true threat.

I have my own fictional story on what if Rick didn't get taken by the CRM and Jessie and the Anderson family didn't die except Pete What if they didn't go out of the house at all... Carl and Ron didn't fought in the garage and they just silently put Deanna down when she dies... They stayed there until Daryl, Abraham and Sasha returned and the gang bust out to help them with the others... what if that's the case then Rick and Michonne wouldn't be a thing but at least he have Rick and Jessie... and during the Negan arc Rick saves Jessie and Ron's hatred against Rick fades off... and then during the time skip Rick and Jessie might have a kid together that idk but it'll be interesting... and hopefully Rick doesn't go MIA after the bridge gets blown up... and the remaining gang fights to Commonwealth with the addition of Rick Grimes... then instead of Daryl going to look for Rick... Rick goes out to look for Morgan secretly and Daryl looks for Rick and yeah...

Dude I like your other videos but this series “what if ___ survived?” end up being really boring cuz the way u tell it the majority of the storyline stays the same as in the show you just swap one character for another. Only a few things are swapped here and there but as a listener it all just sounds mostly the same. On another note, I’ll give you credit for the video edit tho. Taking shots of the character from other parts of the show(or in the case of Glenn taking clips of him from an entirely different show) and inserting them in between scenes of the Walking Dead. For example a really cool one was in the Glenn episode when u took the original scene of Rick chasing down Negan in the car and swapped Glenn into it but used car chase scenes of him from the Netflix series Beef. They were timed very well and even pieces of dialogue were snatched from other places to match perfectly.
