i used to skate mob alot and now i skate jessup i dont have a problem with mob, it just seems like it starts off really grippy and towards the end of the boards life it looses some of that grip, jessup isnt as grippy as mob but it maintains that consistent grip so ill skate either but shake junt and grizzly are also pretty sick, its just down to what you like tbh

pretty late. but ive always used jessup. tried a few other grips in my early twenties. just not the same. one of my old friends and I had a saying, "if it aint jessup, its messed up" . That being said, most of the shops where i grew up, the standard shop bulk tape was always jessup. Its what we rode, and its what we liked.

I switch board sizes to try something new sometimes. 8.1 to 8.25. Somehow it helped you progress as you have to adapt your muscle memory all time new.

I skated Jessup for my first two years or so of skating because Mob destroyed my shoes, and I didn't really have the money to buy shoes all the time. After I got a job, I started using Mob since I can now afford to buy new shoes every month or so. There's no way I can ever go back to Jessup. Mob is just too perfect.

i mean if you think about it, more grip isnt always better. when doing tricks that involve flick, lets say a kickflip for example, more grip = more friction when dragging your foot off the nose. and when you have less grip, to get the same amount of friction you need more of your foot on the board, which will make your balance on the board better. but when it comes to tricks that dont really require flick it kinda sucks.

Mob after a few sessions feels like Jessup to the hand. It's really sharp when new. Jessup is made in usa and a very good uniform quality, not glass bits or whatever sticking out of it. Back in the day we called grip thin like Jessup Fly Paper. Jessup has that old school look i remember from the 90's.

i like old mob. but jessup is noticeably thinner for sure, i love applying jessup though because i dont even cut it. its thin enough to the point where you can file hard as hell and just peel it off. if you were to do that with mob it'll look choppier unless you really let it stick on every where first. another plus with jessup is you wont have the bumps from the bolts sticking up since its thin.

herointec they’re all good. I personally have MOB but it’s too grippy so I wouldn’t recommend it for beginners since it’s a bit harder to practice tricks and the board flies away from you. Jessup has very good reviews and ISNT as grippy so I’ll be trying that one next. I haven’t tried Grizzly but from the research I’ve done it seems like it’s in between jessup and MOB in grippyness. Also MOB kills my shoes :(
