Jon Jones had pictograms in his blood. It's like people blaming Canelo for 'taking steroids' when unfortunately nowadays the meat and even some supplements are filled with 'illegal substances'. Jon Jones is the greatest fighter that has ever fought in mma. GSP has been knocked out and submitted. GSP was beaten to a pulp by Jonny Hendricks. Jon Jones has NEVER been submitted, NEVER been knocked out! No man has been able to defeat Jon Jones in a fight. He's transcended 3 eras of the UFC & dominated all of them. GSP is arguably the greatest UFC welterweight (though there's a debate of Usman being the best ever welterweight too). GSP is one of the greatest fighters but he's not the greatest. Just a reminder for those who forgot, or a point to those who are unfamiliar: The night Khabib broke the record for takedowns in a fight (21 takedowns in a 3 round fight), he fought Abel Trujillo who actually took Khabib down first. If I remember correctly, Khabib reversed the position about a minute or so later. If that were GSP, I think GSP would've done a better job with controlling top position but there is no question Khabib knew what he was doing on his back as well. It was a blast double out in the open if I remember correctly. Very much inline with GSP's style. That was when Khabib went crazy with takedowns. It was likely a "no-no" under Abdulmanap's tutelage to get taken down. That probably came with an exhausting disciplinary routine. That's my theory anyways... Edit: originally put the wrong number of takedowns Khabib scored to set the record for takedowns in a fight.

@ZachS-PFWАй бұрын
@@newchannel416 The only phrase in the original comment that compared Trujillo to GSP directly was a distinction between how I thought Trujillo did controlling top position and how I believe GSP would do better (antithetical to what you insinuated the point of my comment was). Other than that, there was an anecdotal mention of how the style Trujillo took Khabib down with was 1) similar to the style GSP preferred to take his opponents down with and 2) how he himself (GSP) said he would - from a strategical/tactical perspective - approach taking down Khabib. Style does not equal skill. I'm not comparing their skill by comparing their style. As for Tibau, you're talking about a guy who was already a veteran in the UFC, with something around 15 fights already in the premier promotion at the time he fought Khabib. He was a huge lightweight, likely juiced on top of that, good grappler, and came from one of the best teams in the world especially at that time (ATT out of Coconut Creek Florida, where a litany of UFC champions have been produced). Khabib still put him on the defensive the entire fight, completely neutralizing his offense. Simply, if you aren't willing to admit that Khabib is a hell of a grappler, there is no conversation on this topic worth having with you.

Honestly I'm surprised no strikers ever tried to counter a take down approach from Khabib with a flying knee. I feel like kickboxers know the option is there, but it's probably not worth the harm you can cause your opponent. Sort of like how oblique kicks are frowned upon, and many fighters know the option exists but willingly do not try it. Flying knees to counter takedowns are the move that isn't talked about. Michael Venom Page vs Cyborg for example, that precise move happened and I think the MMA community took a silent vow not to try going for that cause of how fatal it is (look up the injury but beware its graphic). The more technical, respectful, sportsmanlike option is to wrestle back, sprawl, or counter with boxing. After all, the athletes aren't genuinely trying to kill each other (maybe the crazy ones) but most understand their weapons so well they know which ones are not worth the risk just my 'humane' take on why ppl dont flying knee wrestlers that shoot often in mma

@@VisionForEver1995 Usman is bigger than Khabib and has better takedown defense, but still got 10-8'd by Chimaev in R1 and taken down in R2/R3 aswell. Burns is also way better off of his back than Khabib, which is why he could survive. Both Burns/Usman had success because they could give Khamzat trouble with their striking, they never once imposed any sort of grappling threat even in R3. Khabib lacks that same well-roundedness. Khamzat's cardio 'issues' are also highly exaggerated

@@SublineYT There is not such a big difference between them. Have you ever seen them together? They both almost look the same size. And Islam Makhachev is even bigger than Usman. And how do you come to a conclusion that Burn is 'way' better than Khabib off of his back and Usman has better takedown defense than Khabib? Khabib is also known to have great control and skills off of his back too. Striking did happen because Khamzat wasn't able to finish them or control them as he wanted to. And Burns and Usman wanted to keep it on the feet with Khamzat. But with Khabib it won't go like that. He'll keep grappling even if he gets outwrestled and eventually until Khamzat gasses out.

Of all the super fights in history, this is the one I wish happened. But, I would want a prime GSP, the age gap was too big.

GSP is still the most intelligent fighter ever. (to much so at times)

Huge GSP fan - But lets be honest here... Khabib takes his soul if they ever fight. Forget about the technique and anything else. Khabib was one of the only one in the cage who was willing to die in there!!!

So it was GSP and Jones. Jones was willing to kill someone too.

HAHAHAH, khabib is so overrated. He didn't stay on top, beating legends like what Fedor, Jon Jones, GSP, Anderson Silva, and DJ did. Khabib retired way too early.

As you are spamming everywhere just tell me the name of the 5 legends DJ fought? Without googling... And incase of khabib let me break it down for you:- Poirier; interim champion Gaethje: interim champion Cm: double champion RDA: former champion Mj: ranked 6 at that time Barboza: ranked 4 at that time AI iquanta: ranked at that time and khabib broke the record of most take downs in ufc history again abel Trujillo, also fought Gleason tibau... So these are like 9 fighters, now tell me 9 equal level guys your mentioned guys fought especially DJ 😂 @@firehousehostel75

Khabib is not keeping Gsp down, Gsp could get up whenever he wanted, he also has the ability to take Khabib down. He's also a wayyy better striker. The only debate would be the age, had it been a prime Gsp its not even close.

Gsp is the goat and way better Mma fighter than khabib don't get me wrong, but i think is gsp didn't experience the strength of khabib, and how tough he is. He said "i would took him down" (i'm not saying he wouldn't) but i think he would be surprised how hard that's going to be cause everyone is a good wrestler until they met the Russian who do that since his birth 😂😂. I imagine that he would taste some "blablaalala" that he already talked about. If there are anyone who could face that it would be Gsp that would be my dream fight cause he khabib idol and he knows him very well.

Everyone has said the same thing that gsp said… he’s only good in the fence stay off the fence. Bs he can wrestle in the open.. just ppl stayed to far away and were so worried about takedowns that he had to shoot from 30 ft away. Khamzat the only person who can takedowns from that far away

all of them say the same thing about Khabib the minute Khabib put hand on them they eye open look confused George need to stop capping

Khabib would dominate GSP with ease. GSP lost to Matt Serra which is ridiculous. Khabibs ground game is levels above GSP
