Georges St-Pierre is a Canadian former professional mixed martial artist. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters in MMA history. GSP was a two-division champion in the UFC, having won titles in the welterweight and middleweight divisions. GSP is a three-time former UFC Welterweight Champion, having won the title twice and the interim title once between November 2006 and April 2008. Fight Matrix lists him as the top MMA welterweight of all time and most accomplished fighter in MMA history. GSP retired as the reigning Welterweight Champion in December 2013, having held the record for most wins in title bouts and the second longest combined title streak in UFC history (2,204 days) while defending his title nine consecutive times. He returned to the Octagon in November 2017 at UFC 217, when he defeated Michael Bisping by submission to win the Middleweight title, thus becoming the fourth fighter in the history of the UFC to be a multi-division champion.

@drewmorg.
@drewmorg. 3 жыл бұрын
@@fayzesalimchoucair2131 Carbs are fine. I consume them daily. But for longevity/health I don't think I've found anything that gives an edge quite like intermittent fasting. I eat 2 meals a day in a 8 hour window and I feel my best (physically AND mentally) this way. It feels natural and without too much forcing either. Whenever I deviate and try to "bulk up" by eating more frequently I always pay with extra fat gain and sluggish mentals and sleepiness. Our bodies are these amazing machines that seem to work best when segmenting what we do. Also look back into nature, when would we have ever just been "grazing" all day long? Impossible. Theorizing about nature and our evolution is only one piece of the puzzle because it has to play out in reality and I think IF checks out wonderfully so far. I think sugar is the enemy if consumed constantly throughout the day. You will also pay with some fat gains. I think Frank will eventually find what works for him but I think emotionally he is quite an unstable guy. Furthermore, it takes A LONG TIME to figure out what is actually upsetting our systems and we all react differently to foods. For instance, I've been a huge proponent of milk on a carnivore lifestyle and it seems lately I just can't drink it anymore without some poor digestive symptoms. At first it was not an issue for me and I was drinking 4 cups a day (2 cups with each meal). When I was consuming yogurt after dinner it stunted any ill effects of the milk and I had perfect digestion actually leaning toward the side of constipation. But now I don't eat yogurt anymore, and I am leaning on the side of soft stool if I consume milk. I dropped milk and poof the soft stool is gone my digestion is rock solid again. Took me 2+ years to figure that out. I've said this for years, what you eat today is far more important than what you've eaten in the PAST. And this is why I don't believe what John Rose is saying to be the end game of nutrition and knowledge.

Thanks for this interview. Love how George touched on the lesser amount of waste (fiber) in the bowels when on carnivore. My experience is the same-the # of bowel mvmts decreased by about 75% vs when I was on a plant-based diet. Flatulence is almost non-existent now too. Funny how most people believe they must eat fiber to have a bowel movement. Best regards

Fiber makes stools more bulky and feeds good Gut bacteria in the gut which is where most of our immune system resides. Fibre had no calories and contributes to feeling satiated. Considering much of the population is Overweight eating a variety Of plants reduces the calorie density of the diet.

I like Paul Mason on this point - - adding fibre to fix constipation is like adding more cars to a traffic jam. Our gut is different from chimps (omnivores but mostly veg matter, with a longer large intestine to ferment the fibre). We have a very short one that can't act well to digest plants, by the time the food gets there the LONG small intestine has done all the digestion. Our stomach is more acid than a dog's (more carnivore than a carnivore! ). As Paul observed of the Hadza, there is NOT a supermarket full of broccoli sitting there in the wild. There are mingy little roots that you chew if you have to, and spit out the fibre. Eat meat if and when you can get it, fast in between.
@T-aka-T
@T-aka-T 3 жыл бұрын
PS - - Mason shows a research paper on fibre - - it WORSENS gut issues. We have been lied to by the old wives' tales about needing fibre. We can do without the bulk and gas. And no fewer species of good gut bugs. Hooray for carnivore and the famous "ghost wipe" it brings. Let the cows do the cowpats! Cows eat grass so we don't have to. 🐂❤️💪😁

Fun interview. Started Dr Paul’s animal based diet in April using foods only on the grocery list, I was having beef, organ capsules, some berries, avocados, apples, olives, dates and cucumber … about 50 to 100 carbs per day. I felt good, my mood issues resolved so I decided to go full carnivore. Boy, that messed me up about a month into it … blood sugar swings and possible electrolytes issues. I believe the blood sugar was the thing for me … I need to get some carbs at each meal to keep my blood sugar stable. I may try full carnivore again but came off SAD with refined carbs etc. Side note - my brother is a scientist, the smart guy in the family, but he said it is okay to go low carb but not fully no carb … consider this, true we may have been no carb tens of thousands of years ago; however, human has evolved a bit on carbs over the last thousands of year … some may need that little carb, just a thought! And I find it interested my MMA idol did eat bananas and berries, some good carb foods.

I'm a believer in the carnivore diet, but I am curious as to how you would overcome hydrogen sulphide SIBO? Cystiene and methionine from amino acids get reduced to hydrogen sulphide, and makes digestive problems in some people much worse. I have had digestive problems for 10 years and carnivore massively improved them for about a month. After that, it made them worse, depending on the type and volume of protein I was eating.

Especially when one can afford bone broths already made organ meat supplements and steaks daily. When one is allowed to feed the sugar with 🍌bananas and other sweet fruit that affect gut and brain the results are less dramatic. And love GSP, what a beautiful spirit. I do seasonal strict carnivore. The past two winters, I ate not plant foods. Then I'll selectively eat some plant foods the rest of the year. But even then, it's rather limited. It's partly an experiment. I'm trying to get the sense of how I feel with various foods. I'm thinking of going full carnivore again, maybe not waiting for winter. A bigger issue for me is whether dairy is a problem or not. I did have a milk allergy as a kid.
