Brilliant video George - nothing wrong with “a bit of old school” it’s great seeing the ploughing going on especially with two tractors, wow. It’s hard to believe that ploughing is taking place in January! Smashing use of your drone, I’m going to watch it again now!!

I'd like to see the JCB on land ploughing in the mud as the Fendt does.

Thanks for that George, thank you for putting in the time and then sharing, always good to see. BTW, looked a bit sticky out there.

What amazes me is how those tractors can handle the weight of those 6 furrow rollover ploughs. We tend to run semi mounted ploughs here in Canada, particularly once you go bigger than 4 furrows

Another great video George, quick question is the plough on the Fendt set up evenly? when you look at the pair of discs one seems to have more paint worn away than the other, (like its going deeper)

Got an old 1135 fastrac, they are OK in the field too. Just people are always slating them. They're proven quality tractors

Great video, George! Were you using GPS? If so is there a way to "explain" to it that is has to skip every other row. I would think with 2 tractors it would get confused. Or, is there some kind of tandem ploughing mode?
@alistairpowers81295 жыл бұрын
George, a very good video, if only to demonstrate it is far too wet, particularly the JCB running in the furrow, there is a real risk of long term soil structure damage. I guess I am on my own on this statement though.
@georgewalker24975 жыл бұрын
in theory a fastrac should grip very well as most other equal wheeled machines grip hellish well like the old countys and Muir hills. I think the fastracs haven't the right weight distribution to make the most of it

What wheel slip percentage george as the fent seem yo have more,was it because you had more traction, being in the furrow or fastrac ability to drop her torque to prevent wheel slip thanks terry
@astonmcleod53445 жыл бұрын
Good video, I see the auto steering is not being used, is it tricky to set up with two machines working? Initially I thought the headlands would be time consuming, you seem to have it worked out.

@hywelisthebest5 жыл бұрын
My one gripe with the on-land setup is how the land wheel runs in the tractor wheelings. If she’s spinning, your then as a consequence ploughing deeper, which could create more spinning and so on...
@GeorgeSaunders5 жыл бұрын
I had noticed that Hywel, it's a bit of an Achilles heel, could do with the landwheel being further forward.

Hi George, what dictates wheather the tractor runs on top or in the furrow ? Is it 2 different types of plough or driver preference ? Thanks Martyn
@joshbennion58435 жыл бұрын
It's the different plough, the one that's on top can also plough in furrow though if the driver wants to.

how does the fastrac pull in comparison to the fendt.. ie Engine management and overall power we have a few 828's and 2 936 fendts but also have a 8330 fastrac and used to have a 4220 but got rid of it as it couldn't handle our implements how do your fasttrac for pulling
@GeorgeSaunders5 жыл бұрын
As you can see from the video the 4220 pulls as well as the 724, all our implements are matched to the the tractors.

Is it me or does the jcb have more wheel slip than the fendt????
@ianaitken50505 жыл бұрын
Was thinking the same thing myself
@donaldtriumph16825 жыл бұрын
Central Iowa Farmer that’s the point more grip in a furrow that on the land looks at the tyres less build up on the pair sat in the furrow but still more wheel slip.Having driven both machines the jcb isn’t a patch on fendt JCB only make good diggers
@detrexninja13344 жыл бұрын
Its how people think tractors dont slip and slide the do on this video that ground looks raver slipy

Should swap the ploughs round see how the fastrac pulls it

No different to the one it's pulling, they are both 6 furrow ploughs with the same boards, both set at 14 inches

Hellp George! I want to buy tractor 220 250 hp and I m thinking about fendt and jcb what do you think? Which tractor is better? Greetings from poland :)
@simonsupersi22255 жыл бұрын
Why wasnt the fendet following in the groove but fast track was?
@charliesawyer53675 жыл бұрын
The fendt has the plough set for on land so pulls the plough from on top of land where as the jcb plough is a in furrow ploug which pulls plough from previous furrow left in ground.
@rongrose37465 жыл бұрын
Seems pretty muddy ?

Is there any reason that you're driving whith handthrottle on both tractors and regulate the speed manually? What's your oppinion on TMS for fieldwork? Do you try to "protect" the CVT transmission that way? I think that TMS sometimes regulates a bit too much in the field?! ;-) Greets from central Germany! Keep it up, George!
@GeorgeSaunders5 жыл бұрын
Hi, TMS in the Fendt and the cruise control in the Fastrac both operate very well most of the time. They do tend to come unstuck slightly when you get major changes in draft load, the transmissions tend to bog down a bit and you can lose momentum. Hence sometimes we run them more like a powershift transmission with fixed revs.
@MrSchlueterbaer5 жыл бұрын
@@GeorgeSaunders Thank you! I really think that's a good way of doing draft work with a CVT! Especially when ploughing in 90° angle to the tramlines as you did! Thereby you can maintain the speed and prevent the transmission from over regulating under varying loads! Sounds absolutely logical! ;-)
@GeorgeSaunders5 жыл бұрын
@@MrSchlueterbaer precisely! When they are on something like the Horsch Joker they run in TMS very well 👍
