That was absolutely awesome ! I’ve loved crawler tractors ever since i was a little kid when a farmer was ploughing a field at the back of our house with an international crawler in the fog and the dark , i saw him from our back door wearing an old army great coat , wooly hat, a balaclava and a pair of old motorcycle goggles because the tractor had no cab on it and it was freezing cold in winter. I was so young I hadn't started school yet but that memory has stuck in my mind and it would have been about 1965 , and i can still remember the word " INTERNATIONAL" on the top engine cover and the badge on the front as he drove it ploughing past the back of our house.

These have always been my favorite tractor after spending a few hours as a passenger in a TM155 when I was a kid back in about 1986

Lovely video and superb ploughing in livery soil, I could watch this for hours for the ploughing alone.

Really enjoyed that, George. I used to drive a TM 90 with 5-furrow Ransomes, single-direction trailed plough. This was in what used to be Huntingdonshire.

Brought back some memories did this. When I was a student, I used to work on a farm in Cambs that had exactly that combo. Never got to drive it myself, I got to follow after with their TM90 and a set of discs.

Sticky old lot but leaves still on the trees so my guess is that it was a wet back-end. That will come down like talcum powder in the spring. Nice bit of ploughing under less than ideal conditions. You controlled that crawler well coming up the bank. Roger D (RIP) would have been proud of you. Regards- - TM155 owner.

We used to have a 135 on the farm. It was the last track marshall we had on the farm before my dad decided to use tractors for ploughing in South Cambs. We had the same plough as well

Hi anstee87, the Tm 135 with dowdeswell 5 furrow plough seemed to be a popular combination, over the years i've seen a few around bedfordshire. How are you getting on this year, i bet your dad wished he had kept the 135 !

No, I was single, my parents living in Kent, and I went to work on this arable farm as it was one of the few that would take on a single man!

P L O W I N G ......a field that is too wet to plow....more work.
@GeorgeSaunders10 жыл бұрын
Well this is a bit of a departure for you, Please do tell us all why PLOUGHING a wet field leads to more work?
@wilburfinnigan214210 жыл бұрын
George Saunders Usually PLOWING a wet field results in the plowed area drying into hard clumps requiring more discing harrowing or otherwise conditioning to break up clumps and make into a smooth seed bead....
@GeorgeSaunders10 жыл бұрын
Well when you are putting a spring crop in, the weather breaks down the clods for you, so one pass with a powerharrow before you drill is all you need to create a suitable seedbed
