Just wanted to reassure Shifu that he speaks quite well. I actually think the way he speaks is perfect since it forces the listener to slow down and pay attention. A sort of lesson in Daoism unto itself. :)

Daoism is truly resonating for me. The idea of balance, of calmness, of cyclical rhythms to the human physical nature - it all makes sense and feels solid. I often have more questions, more critical questioning of religions, but not of Daoism. I am so grateful for your sharing! And I agree with another writer who noted that any linguistic challenges only compel the listener to slow down and truly pay attention in order to learn. This is a good thing!

Rupom Hundred I’m sorry to see that, in some parts of today’s world, bayonets or something even more fatal are still used. Although not really this is meant to attack common people, but they are innocently suffered from the war around the benefit related to relevant countries, parties or tribes. If those who initiated wars have learned Taoist philosophy, they would have chosen another way. There must be a way rather than declaring war!

I think it is a humble approach. Very simple. I think they have wisdom that men have learned over many years. Just as doctors or researchers. Where as the bible is a source of a creator or God. God gave us a powerful mind. We should learn about ourselfs and share it to help others. The bible holds even more. But both are good.

Thank you George for creating this opportunity to communicate with you and your sifu, it is a wonderful thing. Could you possibly share some movements I may try on my own. This would be greatly appreciated. Peace

@silvergeist435 жыл бұрын
Master Gu's explanation of Enlightenment, makes me wonder if he's ever experienced enlightening for himself. 🤔 A better explanation that I once heard was, an enlighten individual is no longer sleepwalking through life. And sees the world without labels. Understands that they are one with everything and everyone. And they are no greater or lesser than anything or anyone. And the identity of who they thought they were was the illusion all long. As the ego has fallen away and they are aware of who and what they truly are. In short they become aware of the fact that they are the universe looking back at it self through the perspective of a human.
@sarikas13525 жыл бұрын
Very theoritalical view of enlightenment !!! It is simple than all this
@silvergeist435 жыл бұрын
@@sarikas1352 "The Toa that can be explained is not the eternal Toa" How can one accurately convey an experience that exists outside of language? The explanation that I gave may have been analytical. But theoretical it was not. Because that was my own personal experience. Enlightenment is not what people think it is. So many people have explained it as if it is some plateau that once they get to they never go back. like reaching the summit of a mountain and then living there forever. Enlightenment is nothing more than an altered state of consciousness. just like sleeping and awake it's a natural cycle of the human experience. Enlightenment is an experience that all will have a chance to have once they spend enough time living in the present moment through mindfulness or some type of meditative practice. I'm not saying this is a challenge. but if you have a better way of explaining it or better method of reaching it more frequently please share😁

what are some of the major differences between Taoism and Buddhism? I always thought they are similar if not the same? Is it true that Taoism is not about ending the cycle of rebirth and death but instead is about living life which means going through the cycle of rebirth and death? Is it fair to say that to find our buddha nature/enlightenment (buddhism) the system of taoism seems to be part of this path of cultivation?
@nandaveerum43996 жыл бұрын
The rebirth thing originated in india with hinduism. After a thorough thought experimentation, buddha have accepted its practicality. Then this rebirth theory entered china with spreading buddhism. So tao was initially independent on its own, focus on nature and exploring our physical tai chi capabilities. So same as how buddha never discussed about gods, taoism doesnt worry about rebirth. It might say that are the projections of earth, we vanish and reappear without any mention of permanent stuff like soul or even consciousness.

Hello! I just found your channel. I am curious to know... and this is probably going to come out of left field, but, is it possible for a Christian person to be a Daoist? I don't know much about Daoism to be honest, but I really appreciate what I have read and learned thus far.
@streamlet74485 жыл бұрын
Yes, lots of people are Christian and Daoist. There are even ancient Christian texts which sound very similar to Daoism
@kmtgoddess77934 жыл бұрын
4 sure while we dont exactly believe we can comprehend god we feel his presence and we live our lives in a way that would please him. The place where christianity and taoism part ways are the responsibility of humans and the mind and heart. Christianity believes everything is on god. Taoism shows us we have to do our part to bring the good into your life. Your thoughts and heart have a bearing on what your bringing to yourself. Also taoism teaches we control time. Dont count the past or look to the future there is only now.. your not however years old you are now years old😊
