I was at this concert in the ninth row. It was awesome! My ears rang for weeks afterwards. We stuck around the stage door when the show was over and not only got a glad-hand from George but hung out with John Lee Hooker and Willie Dixon for a while just sitting in chairs on the sidewalk while they regaled us with tales from the Old Days on a warm summer night. Needless to say, it is still one of the best moments of my life. And we never even asked for an autograph.....

There are new groups out there, but it's not popular in the mainstream so you have to seek it out unfortunately. With that said, rock and blues music will never die, just go underground like it is now, until it gets popular again. Gen Z are bringing back grunge music in the underground now too. Happy search guys, and keep dancing!

I saw George at SUNY Geneseo back about this time in the early 80s, I am not sure of the exact date... but this motoring basic rock and roll was about as much fking fun as we can handle back then - without being obnoxious to others just freaking having good fun enjoying our youth. NO reserves and no crap and no fking wars we were the kids of the late seventies that just loved having fun without any preconceived thoughts of the bloody fking status quo MATRIX affecting us. It was the true eye of the storm.

Once in a while the stars just align and great things happen. You could tell George was tickled to have Elvin on stage. They had lots' o' fun!

I seen him open for the Stones at Sun Devil Stadium, PHX, '81 and they told me that I had a good time. Ever clear acid, herb and various made it I'm memorable.

I'm from New Zealand, grew up listening to George, saw him twice, loved it when he had a tin garbage can on stage filled with ice and Steinlager, when he sang " one bourbon one scotch and one Steinlager beer" the crowd went wild! I like the he does his homework and pays tribute to the area he is in!! A true legend!!

Just saw him in Brisbane, Aus, last night, and so many good references to Brisbane and Australia. He's still got it. Absolute legend, charisma for days.

I ran the cunt over after he'd drunk a XXXX and fucked a Steinlager sheep. He said 'why'd ya do that'? I said, dunno.

One thing I appreciated about George he always did his research about local beers. Saw him in Sydney Australia and he was singing about beers and nightspots like a local. Plays Brisbane two days later, and is equally an expert there.

Amazing and missing this vibe from today's music. Talented and groovy. Wheres my Bourbon and Scotch.

I remember the old Capitol Theater in Passaic, NJ. I've seen many concerts there. You could even have a beer outside waiting for the place to open for the concert. You just needed to keep it in a paper bag. That was the law in the city of Passaic. You could publicly drink, as long as the bottle of whatever was in a paper bag.
