Great job George!!! That is what is so great about these older trucks is that they can pack all the way to the back if they want. I love the nostalgia of the single telescoping packing cylinder. Thanks for posting.

Very cool truck. The flipping door and ribbed body make it look so classic. Good video. Thanks

Old puppy here! I don't think I've seen one with the top door that lifts up like that since sometime in the mid 70s! Most of the ones now just slide backward, and they stay open if you have that feature enabled... Dempster Brothers went under in the late 80s... Several other companies now utilize their original front-loading design...

Wow what a cool truck! I usually associate these with East Coast lol never thought there were any on the West Coast! Agree that those little Dumpsters are pretty darn cool. Packing shot really got the sound of the engine, loved that. Awesome video!

The packing shot was especially fun standing up there on the rather flimsy cabshield (spill tray almost seems like a more appropriate term) with the big Cummins roaring away below, blowing a column of hot exhaust to my left. Quite a thrill. Thanks!

Cool video. That canopy would be REAL easy to catch with a bin on the way up. The old "can opener" manoeuvre.

What an ancient looking truck! Sure don't make them like this anymore! Love the shape of the body, and my favorite part was that flap that opened on the top. Don't think I've ever seen that before, but it's sure a great way to keep lose trash from blowing out! Damn, that dumpster at 2:32 was pretty frickin small. And, loved that packing shot. Great catch!

Lodal is the last holdout and still builds a front loader with a similarly retro design; heavy box construction, flip top door, etc. Although they're tough to come by. Thanks!

Now that's a beefy beastly truck right there! Tons of power behind that! Love the top door, such a rare sight to see in general. Also, love the pare of an Xpeditor and Dempster, something I more often see with a Mack. So that was really neat to see! Also, LOVE the packer shots you got! They came out super clean, and professional! Superb driver as well! Very swift and professional! Looks like shes been driving for quite sometime! Awesome video man! Def one of you're best!

This truck kicks arse! Got one of those unbeatable old diesel growls when it was approaching the bin at the start. Can't not appreciate the old ribbed body, particularly how they were spaced out thinly and really long top to bottom. Single piece top door is awesome too. Funny how it gets to that point of lowering where the cylinder almost appears to lose control and it just drops into the closed position lol I knew you were going to have a view of the wall of steel in action. Apart from the top right corner of the blade being bent, looks like it's held it's shape pretty well; could do with a clean-out down the bottom but. Fuck that meaty telescopic cylinder looks totally ruthless as well - fun to watch them extend and retract. This is the kind of truck I wish I could still see down here.

MitchellM15 I love the way this one sounds at idle like at 3:12. Otherwise the top door was my favorite feature. Luckily Chris has all the pressures turned up on the truck for quicker than usual Dempster operation.

Awesome, awesome video! Can't get over this chassis, it looks so nice! Can't beat that packer cylinder, I'm sure it can pack a real good load. Do they use it often? Also liked that cute little 1yd or ½yd dumpser.

Use the truck often? It's the main truck, with an Able Body/MR as the spare. Check out the pics on Zach's site: www.refusetruckphotography.com/North-40-Refuse

I'm wrong it's a Dempster XHD rare thing with the Volvo Xpeditor but Cummins is more common as always

Just wanted to rewatch this again, another amazing video of yours. Love how the Volvo looks with the Dempster and even the simple tan/yellow colors look pretty nice. Nice background at 1:50 too. Good thing she doesn't have a lot of power lines to worry about what that hopper cover haha. Love the packing shot too and how complete the video is with the transfer/ride back to the yard. Looks like a really small route from hopper shots, or just her second load?

Garbage Trucks AZ Just a small route, we got to see every one of Chris' stops that day, took all of maybe 45 minutes. Normally she waits until the truck is full to unload but made an exception for our cameras.

3 years late but the hatch is what would now be the sliding top door most trucks of this nature have today.
