Magic Valley Super Pack! Another Dinosaur LIVES!

So back in October Zach, George, and I all took a week and ventured up to Twin Falls, ID, the Jurassic Park of the US for old trucks. Holy
cow! There are SO MANY OLD CA TRUCKS UP HERE!!! If anybody here has any interest in old trucks OF ANY KIND they are all up there in Twin Falls.
This truck is one of two Superior Equipment Super Pack side loaders,
and one EZ Pack (to be uploaded soon). Magic Valley is a great old
family business run by wonderfully warm welcoming people (except for one man, you know who you are, angry grumpy man. I hope you watch this video and see I wasn't trying to sell out your company.)

All you G-Men out there, just be happy you don't drive one of these
things. Drivers of these trucks had a pretty rough life. Imagine
heaving a heavy can over your head at every house. These guys have been driving these trucks since they were teenagers.

Rebuild those old dinosaurs 🦕 These are classic ones! I remember that front loader back in the early 70s with the old style arms! They were noisy but sooooooo cool to watch 😊

I do miss the noisy front loaders from the 70's and 80's. Those fantastic sounds was a significant reason getting me into trucks in general.

Wow wouldn't even know one of these still existed... probably one of the oldest trucks I've seen on YT! Very unique looking cab. I also really like this small-town/husband-wife service thing...not something you see too often these days. I don't think I've ever seen on of these trucks and crew -- definitely different than ones you would see in a city! I really don't think they would even consider recycling here...Excellent footage!

These are old time trucks from late 60s to 70s.Heck i was a kid watching ezpack trucks and even remember pakmors we fondly called barrell trucks cause they were round packed from front same as these except cyclinder was at bottom of packer blade so nice to see the old stuff !!

Those seats are pretty spartan! No frills on that old truck, but she keeps on tickin!

WOW! What an amazing piece of history! And it has been documented! Such an interesting and strange truck. Hell yeah its gotta get old slinging garbage in such a tall truck. Its almost the size of a 20yd roll-off container, well at least the height. Can't wait to see what else they have. Wonderful work as always!

Great find here guys! I am so glad you were able to film these side loaders as the old school ones like this are my favorite and not to mention you got some great hopper shots/packing cycles. These trucks bring back memories of the barrel shaped Truxmores for me. Glad you made the trip for us to enjoy!

What an awesome old truck! Looks painful to run all day - especially lifting above your head at every stop. It's nice to see how things were done many years ago, it's kind of like looking at a time capsule.

Wow! So cool to see this in action! Ancient for sure! To be honest, doesn't look like much fun to drive lol Wow female driver if I'm seeing right?! Curious, with so many trucks in Cali being retired/sent out of state, why don't these guys get a new truck? Guess if it runs, they'll keep it right? haha Wow 6:24 is like going back to the 60s or something. So cool seeing these old trucks in 2015 still running. Amazing find guys!

She is his wife. He is one of the sons of the owner. They are still using this, and the other three trucks, primarily because the owner is stuck in his ways and likes what he knows, and he knows these three trucks. The little town where these trucks were collecting in was like time warping back to the 60's. It was very nice to be around.

You're never gonna see these older Garbage trucks like these anymore they don't want to die they lasted longer than the newer Garbage trucks with faulty issues

There is something to be said about not having a ton of sensors and switches doing the job a lever and a hydraulic line should be doing. lol

Loved this! I remember once when I was living in Twin Falls, I recall seeing this in the rural out skirts of Twin. Didnt get a pic, but I remember seeing this. I remember Western Waste had a few old trucks. But PSI was my trash server when I was there. They didnt have anything great as this.

KennysTrucks Just curious, was Western Waste up in Twin Falls? This is the very same truck you recall. He has another that looks similar to this one color-wise and shape, but the EZ-Pack they have is all white.

Yes, I saw a FL, and a Curbtender while I was in the area. I'm not sure if I was in Twin Falls city limits, but they were Western Waste trucks. My friend sent me a pic of one. I"ll post it to facebook later. All I remember is seeing a white square body. I dont remember the color of the cab.

This International EZ pack is the prime example from the late 70's or 80's model and Gas powered with either a manual or AT540 Allison Transmission

The old trucks I see where I am are from the 90s, this looks like something from the 70s!!! Basically a really old box on wheels, but very interesting to watch, especially the full height blade cycling. I also noticed there are no forward pack cylinders; are they inside-body mounted or perhaps even under the body? A very old fashioned, classic and interesting viewing =] Wouldn't happen to be husband and wife too would it? lol Looking forward to seeing the vintage seen at the end.

MitchellM15 The packing cylinders are underneath the truck. That keeps them out of the way, and less prone to damage. This was indeed a husband/wife combo, and his brother drove one of the other trucks. The videos we have of that, vintage monster you saw at the end will blow your mind. We'll get that one up fairly soon.

Mitchell that very last truck on the video with the big cyclinder is an EZpack body .I grew up as kid watching those trucks crush garbage.Wow this is one of the best old videos on youtube never though any of those trucks were still going any where.

+Christopher Lovelock These guys had two of these (one smooth sided, and this one) plus an Hydro EZ-Pack and a couple of Maxon FL's plus a recycler. A museum is one definite way to put it.

For some reason I feel surprised at how roomy the cab is (at least compared to all our Autocars and Petes down here). I guess that's the trade off of having all our creature comforts like radios, A/C, backup cams...

+shadofax96 To start a business and need a license for those types of waste which will be transported. We have complicated the classification of waste by type and hazard class. Sanitary conclusion on the equipment and machines which will do business. Workers should receive special training on work with hazardous waste. This in 2016. Next year the rules will change. Rules of waste management tend to change every 2-3 years. The quality of waste management, these changes have little effect. We have a small amount of waste recycled. Most of the waste buried in the landfill.

If somebody wanted to get a truck and operate it, what kind of resistance would he/she get from authorities? Wether it be legal (government) or illegal (organized crime). For example in Italy, if you try this, it's 2 years of working free, and your truck is no longer yours, it becomes the mafia's. They tell you where it can be parked, when and where you can use it, and you may not even be the driver of your own truck. You *might* get your truck back after your two year servitude. In the US, it's like 2-5 years to start making any semblance of modest income after fees, equipment, licenses, etc.
