“A painter is one thing, a person is another”… got to think this one through. Very interesting documentary 😊

Always wanted to know more about Georgia’s life. I saw her “hacienda” in New Mexico from the outside when I passed by - not open to visitors at the time! I admire her independence, creativity and personal strength in ignoring the restrictions on women at the time.

This was a wonderful documentary! Ive seen the movie and loved it but this was quite amazing. Even though, Im not much into her work, I definitely respect her amazing creative views, the power to follow what you believe and the solitude which I connect with her in so many levels. I love her flower paintings and her story was powerful and gave you hope as an artist to stand for what you believe. Im working on a series in memory of her life in New Mexico- The pieces are all based on assemblages and found objects. Ive finished one and I still have 4 more to go. This assured me even more how I viewed her style and decor! What an amazing woman and artist!!

This has to be one of the best bios. I have read. I do have a fantastic book of her art work. I think she was an absolutely wonderful person in every way.

As a Chatham Hall graduate, I was under the impression she actually did not graduate from Chatham. That she was so miserable she left. I always was sad for her to have felt that, and I hope it's true that she really did graduate from there. This is a wonderful movie and I love learning more about this American legend.

Im glad that her husband came to terms, truly, that his affair had caused emotional damage to her, and was very remorseful of his actions. Im also very glad of Georgia's emtional maturity for allowing him to make his treacherous mistake, then accepting his forgiveness when he truly recognized his sins to her. Beautiful tale of trials and tribulations of a real marriage. Plus, he was a 2 time adulterous man, and very glad he learned the true cost of his moral errors. ❤

The best personal biography of Georgia O’Keefe. She was a complicated human, as we all are, but often made into a one dimensional painter, not person. Thank you for this.

Thank you for this wonderful biography into the life of Georgia O'keeffe. I hope one day there is a revelation that reveals her thoughts and philosophy on her work. For now a person is a person and a painter is a painter.

Glad I took the time to watch this documentary. I knew who she was superficially, but I had no idea who she was if that makes sense. Loved learning more about her.

Anyone who has taken an art class knows O’Keefe. Her contribution is ubiquitous. But until today I had no notion of her emotional maturity. Her reaction to her husband’s lover displays the depth of her learned view of herself. Of course her reaction to his lover is her problem. He has every right to be whomever he chooses, just as she does. He has every right to do with his body as he chooses. But knowing these things in principle is far from feeling it in practice. My respect for her has increased exponentially. Thank you.
