One of these days this country is going to wake up and realize that alcohol is our number one enemy and actually do something about it.

There was prohibition. What happened, people still brought alcohol in illegally. These people made plenty of money. The Kennedy’s made money during this time also. It’s sort of like the laws against marijuana. Same thing happens through drug trafficking.

The victim’s parents will have to sue the defendant’s homeowners insurance. How could they be so irresponsible?
@laurajane48063 күн бұрын
Yes. The lawyers can also sue the auto-insurance company, which could be under the driver girl's parents. If the driver has anything at 18, they will include her too, as well as whoever supplied the wine (if it wasn't the party parents). They include everybody they can assign a portion of blame/financial responsibility to.

I was never the cool parent. My children could not spend the night at friend's houses. They were not allowed in cars with other teenagers. They were not allowed to drink alcohol nor smoke. This made my daughter very angry. Today, she is alive while several of her friends are dead. At 31 she's angry about the rules from her teenage years. Her brother is grateful. Some of his classmates died and some are in jail. I may not be the cool parent but im definitely the responsibility one. Praying for the parents.

It's about time parents are being held accountable. I'm so tired of parents blaming schools, "the system," ect. Everybody but the single mother and absent father in the mirror. On the other hand her friends knew how the driver drove and chose to get in the car with her. Poor judgement on the passengers,too.

This isn't just these parents and driver problem. Teens hide alcohol in hairspray bottles and water bottles. How can anybody know what they have consumed earlier in the day. Someone drinking this much has bern getting alcohol from other sources, perhaps. It is not just one persons fault, although I do understand it is a horrible accident. Things need to be investigated further. Teens unfortunately are sneaky when it comes to alcohol. So sorry someone lost her life. So tragic.

We tried that it was called “prohibition”. It led to a violent crime spike and illegal bootlegging. It was repealed two years later. I can have one glass of wine. I don’t drink and drive. I will not be penalized for irresponsibility. And it is not YOUR right to tell me how to live my life. No other country has an opioid crisis. No other developed country has a rampant youth alcohol problem. We have the lowest education scores and the highest demand for illicit substances. This is a cultural problem.
