I am a retired teacher and agree with the decision. We as teachers have a selection of books to use in classrooms, but they have to be aligned with common cores and state standards. Why can we talk about these topics and cannot talk about people dying, diseases, and other topics? Because they are sensitive topics so, what she did cannot be an exception.

The teachers in our school switched rooms, but our "homeroom" teacher kept all her stuff in our classroom and would come back to take us to lunch or recess, etc.

It is impossible to know what is acceptable to teach? Uhh get the book approved then it is acceptable. Why do people act like the victim when they were not responsible enough to take the proper actions to have the book reviewed... No one to blame but yourself teacher!

Yes we know. That's the point. She failed to teach her class of 10 year Olds about math. Instead, she thought it was a better idea to confuse them with a gender studies lesson. 😂

@@franklin9400 When I was 10, I was in Catholic school, so maybe it was different there, but our math teacher was also our homeroom teacher, and she sometimes read to us. Also, teachers sometimes took turns reading to us in the library. It wasn't uncommon for a math class and a science glass to get grouped together for reading a book or watching a video (remember VHS?) in the library (AKA "media center" in my school) on certain days. I don't get what all this confusion is about just over a math teacher reading to students. That seems totally normal to me. *REAL QUESTION:* Is it against the rules for math teachers to read in public school?

@@Sarappreciates To your real question. No it shouldn't be. The sad part is, it will now have to be in direct response. To stop activist from trying to groom children, with ideas of gender ideology. Just sicking it has gotten to this point. It shouldn't be a controversy that a math teacher trying to teach 10 years old. They could be the wrong gender, when they don't even understand gender or sexuality. That used to be left, for college to "Explore" now you are trying to confuse 10 year Olds. 🤢
