Georgia Constitution Media, The J-Town Press, and GT visited the McCormick county offices. Where we met a very nice lady that assists the veterans with help. We also met a very rude and unprofessional lady as well.

As a new resident here, I find it interesting because my interactions with MANY of these same people was just as pleasant as it could be. It looked pretty apparent that the two of you were trying to create a difficult situation and get a rise out of people. And on top of that, you are the GEORGIA TRANSPARENCY NETWORK. Why don't you ever, really, show your "first" interaction with these people or in other videos? I just wanna get good GA news, but by doing that, it makes it seem like you antagonize people to get their reactions. It doesn't help that a lot of people do that anyway for views. Even if you post edited versions for people to get a quick news update, could you also release full versions with no edits? It'd be easier because you wouldn't have to edit, and people could get the full experience. Dorothy Rivers at the Veterans department was a delightful and helpful lady but it was too good to last and the visit to the water department started the rot. The very rude, disrespectful and spectacularly unhelpful Yolanda did however crack me up when you asked her why it was illegal for you to be there by yourself. She did everything she could to fob you off onto the unidentified guy in the office where the info had been removed from the side of the doorway. His later rude and offensive behaviour probably explains why he prefers to be unidentified. This was not a good look for McCormick county with their very smart building and security system that grants you access but fails to tell you where the office is, leaving you to wander around trying to find the one office you need.

Please, tell me what county gives “veterans benefits? “Your VA service representative helps get you benefits from the department of Veterans Affairs. Not the county. Some states may have supplemental benefits. There is the oddball county in these major metro areas, but the most rural county in SC? Come on!

NEVER, under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, give your name or other contact/identifying information to a government agent when seeking service from a government entity. They will use your information to harass and intimidate you. Also, when you provide an email address to a government entity, they will bring all their resources to bear to identify you including contacting the email service provider for your contact information. Best to get an anonymous email address with NO Personal information listed…
