Fun Ornn fact : Ornn once built a house for himself, it was so good he called it perfect. But Annivia wanted to pull a prank on him and made him sneeze while he slept. When Ornn sneezed he breathed fire and his house burnt down. When he woke up he decided he would never call anything perfect again. This is why "good" is Ornn's highest compliment.

25:57 "I made this hammer. It was so good, I named it... Hammer." This is definitely a funny line, but it's actually pretty important, historically speaking. In the lore of Runeterra, the word/verb "(to) hammer (something)" exists, because that's what Ornn did with the tool - the tool that he named hammer. The actual act of hammering something was named after the thing and word Ornn created.

Braum's shield is the vault door. The door itself was made by Ornn and is completely indestructible. Braum had so save the child by punching through the mountain he could not break the door.

1st yes it is a door ornn made because he lost a drinking contest with a troll 2nd if im shure it wasnt a child stuck inside it was the troll who put all gold inside because that door is made so you can put stuff in 1 time and is locked foever because ornn outsmarted the troll si braum saved him by i think brakeing the mountant (the peak) and the only thing lefted was the door wich braum now has

Ornn does not need a rework. His kit is still very modern and he's a decently popular pick in pro-play because of his massive teamfight ultimate. He's just not exactly a money maker when it comes to the casual audience that why he doesn't really get any love when it comes to skins.

It's really just top tanks in general, players want to make the big plays and as a tank you kinda just play frontline soak damage and try to get a good engage. Ornn is REALLY fun in comparison to other Warden champs and Riot gives you so many free stats as compensation just to get people to play him (through his passive and item upgrading), the top tank experience is just not very good, when they're strong the game sucks to play (Tank meta was a nightmare/ Tank Ekko meta) so Riot can't let them be strong, in lane you get bullied, you get out of lane maybe make an uncoordinated engage nobody follows up on, die, get flamed. For most players it's not a fun experience which is why Riot needs fun gimmicks to get people to play them (Shen can TP anywhere ont he map, Tahm munching his allies/enemies, Poppy can send people to outer space in fights). Tank supports like Braum, Rell and Alistar can offer utility and vision control + can work with someone who does damage, Tank Junglers get to, y'know Jungle, we even got Galio as a Tank Midlaner who can roam and poke with spells in lane, in top you usually end up being imprisoned in a hellish lane with Sett/Darius/Trundle/Crit Garen and it's more a mental fortitude test than anything else. Maybe K'Sante will be better when Worlds comes around as he's supposed to be really skill-intensive to play.

But being a massive tank or juggernaut? A badass raidboss who takes on the raid party? I think that's a cool and marketable fantasy.

@@MrMeddyman It not even the play style. Tanks used to be absolutely the meta, it's just that tanks aren't tanky any more. You say tank Ekko meta but that came way, way later than tanks in their prime. Tank Ekko was broken because he's not a tank, he didn't have any of the downsides of a tank but he had all the survivability. True tanks are dead with the exception of Ornn because they can't stand up to the amount of damage in the game now, especially true damage. Ornn is far tanky than other tanks and brings so much utility that he can survive, but the old days of top lane being filled with Maokai, Malphite, Sion, Tank Hecarim, Gnar, Nautilus, Cho'Gath etc... and jungle having tank Rek'sai, Sejunai, Zac, tank Gragas, tank Amumu, etc... are over. A few of these champs have been able to hold on to relevance by switching to full damage builds, like full AP Cho, Gragas, Amumu, but they were designed as tanks, with big CC for team fights and bug disruptive ults. But now in a world of everyone having shields and heals they're hardly tanky. Ornn is just the exception because he has consistent damage without building damage items, he has a great ult, and even if you're inting into oblivion your items will still help your team. Also just check the base stats on someone like Nautilus and compare them to a tank support like Leona, he has like half her stats, he needs tons of items to even get slightly tanky, and by then his damage is non-existent. Malphite is the same, no defense unless he builds them and almost no damage unless he builds AP, the only thing keeping him in the game was the changes to allow his E to scale off of his armor to give him a bit of damage. The issue with the tank Ekko meta is completely avoidable. The messed that up by buffing tank items instead of tank champions, this meant that non-tank champs could just build those items. When it comes to Tahm and Shen it's not because they have fun gimmicks that people play them, it's because they've been broken. Tahm a few months ago just dealt so much damage because his autos dealt a portion of his health as bonus damage, and because his grey health let him tank an insane amount. They promptly nerfed his grey health in a solo lane and he's basically gone from solo queue. Shen is just broken post TP changes, no one else can TP to lanes before unleashed TP so he can have a global presence like to the top laners of old. That and completely blocking auto attacks makes him a hard counter to certain champs. Brau, Rell and Alistar are decentish, however why play a champ that requires you to acurate judge engange timings to make plays when you can just play an enchanter support and faceroll your keyboard healing your ADC for 300% of their health and boosting their damage output? No one plays these champs at all, enchanters run bot lane at this point. Rell and Braum are almost the lowest picked champs in support, 1.40% and 1.65% pick rates respectively, Alistar does a little better with 3.25%. On the other end we have Lulu, Janna, Yuumi, and Nami with 10-13% pick rates. And take into account that Yuumi has an over 50% ban rate and is still picked that much.

Ornn is one of the most lovable character in league par with Braum, character wise. We even "riot" at Riot Games to give him his 2nd skin after 3 years since his release which is the Elderwood one.

Some of Ornn's voice lines are related to his gameplay. -First, he has the ability to buy items outside the base, because he forges them. So the lines related to "work well done" are him forging an item -Second, he can upgrade items for his team, turning them into Masterpieces, so the lines refering to well done weapons or "I didn't sell, you didn't buy it" and such are related to this -Front liners often run Teleport summoner spell to be where they're needed when needed, so the lines refering to fast travel are about this. Also, the Teleport warns your allies that you're arriving, and they added voice lines about Ornn coming to save the fight.

The Lost Tales of Ornn is a great read, features a bunch of tales told orated to children around a fire (with a familiar legless character) through the tribes of Ornn that explain his long storied history in the Freljord, from his relationship to his siblings, the forging of what would become Braum's shield, his interactions with the Three Sisters and his role in building the bridge above the Howling Abyss. Ornn did A LOT to reframe the lore of the Freljord and make it so much more interesting The Gamplay trailer does makes little sense lol you're right about that, they hadn't gotten to remaking Volibear at this point and while Volibear became a god alongside Ornn after his release before he was just a shaman bear-man that took over his tribe and sided with Ashe, Anivia was the only real "demi-god" in the lore before Ornn was released. As for Sejuani being there, eh Riot's a big company and the promo people probably just wanted to stick anyone of renown from the same region in there. Trundle would make more sense as Lissandra's ally but it's primarily a gameplay trailer. Those soldiers are a reskin of Azir's soldiers though, remade to look as Frostguard so if they went through all that trouble they may as well have put the correct champs next to Liss lol.

Ornn's release and stories were pretty damn hype at the time, finding the connections to him and other champs, not just Anivia/Volibear obviously but also Braum, Trundle, and Fizz. Still highly HIGHLY recommend you do one of these for Nunu and Willump, I remember you loving how cute they were initially, but their voiceover takes the cute/wholesome to a whole new level. They're also getting their own game!

If you like this type of content I highly recommend Legends of Runeterra interactions, they basically add more lines to the champions, a lot of them are for older champions too that don't have a lot of content in the main game. All of them are on the Skin Spotlights channel, in one Playlist afaik. Ornn was released there recently in a bundled video with some others. And the Legends of Runeterra champion trailers are awesome too, but you already have that in the video.

Ornn's line "Gods do not need followers, followers need gods" is one that I think encapsulates Ornn. He doesn't want followers for the sake of gaining power of having them worship him, like his siblings. He wants to be a good example for them, to drive them forward in self betterment. He doesn't want them to be his followers, he wants to be their god, someone worthy of their veneration. When they gathered at Hearth-Home while he wouldn't give them extensive praise for their efforts he would acknowledge them, causing them to push on further and hone their craft, all the while he himself was toiling away under the mountain honing his own.
