Yorick was done dirty. He carries/carried a part of isolde on his back and had one of the few blessings capable of resisting the black mist and Viego but barely got any screentime or impact on the Ruined King game. Illaoi, Pyke and MF made sense due to proximity and involvement but Yasuo, Ahri and Braum got squeezed in there because they are fan favorites :c

Even in the event his involvement was way less then it could have been. But the even in general the event kinda makes it look like the power is purely from Isolde and not yorick.

The creepy voice that sometimes adresses Yorick is the Maiden of the Mist. He summons her along with 4 ghouls in-game as his ultimate ability. She follows him around and attacks enemies. It was suspected at one time that she held a part of Isolde's soul, since Viego had a voiceline on release where he misstook her for Isolde. Also that was a quick one indeed! Not even on patreon! Give us more candy, more content yay! 😂

Oh it was not just suspected, it was confirmed. The only thing poor Yorick did in the event is give the Sentinels some of his blessed water and send the Maiden with them. It hurts to remember just how messy it all was. Thankfully we got Arcane a couple of months later.

I love this guy. Ingame and in his lore, he is a down to earth man, that does what is needed to win the fight he choose to fight. And yes he is mortal ... kind of a normal human, that survived cause his task was more important that his option to die. The whispering voices are the voices of the dead, that invite him to die. Ingame there is the Maiden of the Mist (his R) representing this everlasting voices, he hears for as long as he can remember. In a way this interaction between him and the dead shows how important the task to redeem the lands is, at least from his point of view. The quote about kindred "At last ... I see the wolf" is a very deep one, if you remember the meaning of the two sides of kindred. He knows that he should already be dead and that the wolf is hunting him for centuries, (The Ruination is more than 1000 years in the past) so he knows even if he accepts his death in the end, the lamb will not save him from the brutal punishment of oppose death for so long.

One of the few realists in the champ pool. He sees the state of the world and knows that hope is fading. And though he has lost his hope he fulfills his duty to return it for others. He’s also incredibly powerful in a unique way being the only thing able to save souls from the black mist rather than merely destroying them.

Honestly one of my favorite champions. I'm very sad he didnt get mcuh screentime in ruination event.. he was mentioned there and appeared but he was less than a side character. which is huge shame since he is like the main resistance force on shadow isles themselves. Also i really like your videos. as someone who play league and is super deep in its lore for 9 years now i really enjoy watching people getting into it more deeply as well x3. If i may suggest its nice to also watch some champions and skin themes since they sometimes show how they explored the designs in them. i would also recomend to check out Volibears theme and also rework teaser and voicelines. im not sure if you checked out the freljordian demigods yet but they would be fitting rn because the release of game Song of Nunu was yesterday. i also recommend playing it its not that long but it moves lore forward and its very cute game.

Very happy to see your voice lines reactions. I think you'd enjoy Skin Spotlight's (youtube channel) special interaction videos better because they show the context the voice lines show up such as the champion they're talking to. Loved catching up in your reactions and your progression for the lore. Can't wait for the next one!

As interesting as Yorick may be, bro still gets overshadowed hard by pretty much anything else with faster and more flashy gameplay both by the community and in the lore.
