Merry Christmas Georgina ! It's 11pm on Christmas night here in the US and I'm finally able to watch your vlog. Our biggest celebration is Christmas Eve with lots of family and food. Christmas day is just my husband, one son, the dogs and me. And you are right, it's about being with family no matter how large or how small. We have to make our own joy in this life. We had our traditional boiled dinner (supper) that we used to be called “cook” or “cooked dinner because it used to be cooked at lunch time. People call it Jigs Dinner these days. We make a liquor out of boiled salt meat, and add root vegetables, cabbage, and potatoes, and a peas pudding that boils in a pudding bag, as the vegetables cook. We cooked a turkey and made gravy, and made the traditional “savoury” (herb) dressing. This way of doing it is very time consuming, but we like to keep this tradition at least. My English and Irish ancestors cooked this way and it has been passed on for generations.

I like the King good enough, but miss seeing the Queen. She seemed like a lovely woman. I remember lots of pictures of the Queen about when I was young, not so much in the recent past. Things have changed a lot where I am from. We are so much like the states now. Boo.
