This guy has attempted to walk across a country in a completley straight line so many times and has failed. If he was the sort of guy to cheat in a game he would've found a way to cheat at those things too. Wayyyyyyyyy more time consuming, dangerous, etc. He'll literally crawl through brambles to maintain a straight line rather than go 10m to the left and walk around.
@patrickjohnson57893 жыл бұрын
This is actually a very solid way at looking at it. It’s frustrating that being talented/educated at something automatically leads to claims of cheating. It’s a sour way of admiring someone’s ability to be great at something.

Yeah, I think for personal playing it's fine to do that as long as you aren't claiming otherwise. I do the same if it is taking awhile and often it sort of helps me learn areas because I then have to zoom in myself and look around the area compared to just being told at the end where it was after I guessed really wrong when I'm not likely to then really see the area as much. I wouldn't do that on a play along or battle royale though.
@ZaPpaul3 жыл бұрын
Oh shit yeah, I feel I'm happy if I can find something to google. Most of the time, I am guessing terribly.

For me it isn't cheating. Your target is to find a place where you were landed. For me it is a kind of challenge of looking for characteristic names, streets or places and then investigate them on the web. It is a part of the game.
@arstulex3 жыл бұрын
@@wiadp1 It's not really a part of the game though, it's literally the opposite of that. If you're opening up another window or tab to get extra 'meta' information then you are cheating as it's not the intended way to play. There's a reason they don't provide the facility to do that within the game itself. Saying that's not cheating would be like me saying using an external chess solving engine to help beat an AI at chess isn't cheating. Not saying you shouldn't do it (since you're not really hurting anyone) but it is definitely and objectively cheating.

Tom is not a guy who would even consider cheating. He makes challenges for himself just to enjoy the game. He has to do dozens of attempts in order to get some decent runs, if someone watches his streams or videos knows that well

The ones who are better than Geowizard actually tryhard the game way more than he does. You can memorize bollards, google cars, phone numbers, road signs, license plates, road markings, and many other stuff that you can actually study. Geowizard actually focuses more on the landscape features which is probably the best way to play the game.
@Dragorach3 жыл бұрын
"Best" is subjective here fs. You even described a 'better' way to play where you're likely to get more points more often. If you're playing for fun instead of to win then his way would be more enjoyable probably.

A tip that helped me for whenever there is Spanish, is to look at the stop signs. If it's Spain it will say "stop", in Mexico it says "alto", and in most of South America (and I think the Caribbean) it's "pare". It's kind of weird how many little things there are that can help you figure it out. Also Tom is so smart, I have learned so much how to play this game from him. How people can accuse him of cheating is beyond me.
