This cockle-warming coastal adventure continues, and part 2 has it all.
Join me as I continue my quest to survive on nothing but £10 in my pocket and a sleeping bag, trying my best to source food, water and shelter as I go, but also trying my best to enjoy the landscapes and people that this marvelous county has to offer. This time my quest for funny stories lead me into a strange house and the heart of a village spat, and I try my hand at some coastal foraging and cooking...

SLIGHT SPOILER Thanks once again for tuning in everyone. I’ve tried to be as respectful as I can to the characters in this episode whilst maintaining the story of the adventure, but it was tricky on this one. I also didn’t mean to waste any of that fresh seafood, that was clumsy of me! Finally please don’t eat any berries or plants you’re not 100% sure on - even with these apps! As always please give the video a like and let me know in the comments where in the world you think I should take my tenner with me next and which direction I should travel!

I left a massive comment on Part 1 (regarding you walking under my old house in Looe and coming back for the North Coast etc.) so I'll TRY to keep this brief, but this adventure ABSOLUTELY MUST continue at some point from where you ended. Dodman Carpark would be an ideal setting off point. According to my very rudimentary calculations (following the coast with the ruler on Google Earth...) it's the same distance again to Penzance, taking you through what is objectively the most gorgeous place on Earth, the Lizard Peninsula. And if you're up to it, another 15 or so miles from Penzance to Lands End, at which point you've essentially completed the South coast of Cornwall. Hope this doesn't come across at too demanding, just thought it may be worth your consideration 😉 Epic series regardless Tom, like I said as a Cornwall native it's my favourite project of your's so far, and I'm very keen on the Kayak idea also! Hopefully see you down 'ere again soon!

"I couldn't help but think that if I'd have kept the onion, and the mushroom, I'd be well on my way to rustling up a seafood dish Rick Stein would be proud of" Sounds much like a dialogue line straight out of a point-and-click adventure video game. Just like when you click on your character and they start speaking hints to the player. Such a nostalgic, yet authentic narrative style.

@@FestonTrenchfoot Of course all of Cornwall is Cornish, but if you look at the history, the saxons pushed the cornish further and further down until you get to the lizard/ lands end where the language used to be most concentrated, and the festivals and celtic practices such as mazey day and montol in penzance, lafrowda in st. just and flora day in helston embody the celtic cornish spirit the most, so there is defintely a more concentrated cornish and celtic identity the further you go down.

In the last adventure you spoke about how you would love to do small ''quests'' for the people you run into to earn some money, food or shelter. The story with Helen is the closest you have come to doing one of these quests so far. She bought you beer, offered you a place to sleep and gave you breakfast and some supplies. In return you had to come with her to back her up in the local village dispute (even though you had no idea, lol). This could be straight from a medieval RPG game! This is what it's all about!

All of those flags on that street in Par are for Par carnival! The houses are all assigned different countries that they have flags up for but often they are just flown all year round - so there aren't actually all those nationalities there! Love seeing so many local sights in this series!

Hi Tom, thank you for making a really exciting adventure and challange. Just come across you channel and love it. ❤ But what i loved more is that i pack my bag , a one man tent and a trap, armed with my fishing rod and camp along all the places you past, from lantic bay to gorran haven, may favorite place is combe haven, gribbon head and black head. Choosing a different place every night to fish and camp. All those hills and paths, whating on your video, makes me excited to getting back onto the beach again in some remote location. Take care and be safe

You have really brought back some lovely memories. Thankyou. I love your channel Tom.❤❤❤😊

Recommend the Dingle Peninsula in Ireland. Inch beach -> An Daingean -> Dún Chaoin -> Ballyferriter -> Conor Pass -> Castlegregory. It's about 100km. Plenty of tourists to interact with, fewer of the idyllic Cornish villages tho, but amazing scenery and coastline, and temperate fauna like in Cornwall. I know you've ruled out straight line missions across Ireland, and you're right in your reasons, for me. But this one, with €20 in your pocket, would be great. Check it out Tom... Love from Ireland... 👍👍
