Gerry you are such an articulate speaker with a calm demeaner. I really appreciate the information you share. I think it would be interesting if you looked into what a 'Covetous Psychpath' is because both Hubbard and Miscavige seem to have a big sliver of that catagory of psychopath within them. When anyone does well and that begets any good attention the 'Covetous Psychpath' detests it utterly. They whom are also narcissists become severely punishing as they believe and clearly seriously RESENT the person(s) even sometimes to the point of ruining a person or just clearly having it out for them. They feel for some reason(s) that they will disintegrate if any one else experiences any limelight whatsoever for their ideas or accomplishments. They want it all. My best wishes go out to you and those that continue to shed more and more of a spotlight on different aspects of the inner workings of Scientology from Hubbards inception of it to Miscaviges continuence of it...reminding me of Ozzy Osbournes 'Crazy Train' lyrics...'going off the rails on a crazy train...' It makes me feel that 'Crazy Train' ought to be Scientology's theme song.

What was it that did not seem right to you when in Scientology. I came close to joining however in my gut it felt it was dangerous. Also because of what someone did to me while attempting to recruit me. I want to have correct etiquette and not overstep any bounderies in contacting you. So feel free to contact me or to not answer. Too expensive, my mom was against it and I could never even muster the courage to try to explain it to her, even though I was given some instruction on how to handle. Not only that, I knew that probably everyone in my family would be against it. She is the only one I told at the time, but I did bring my sister and a friend of her into the Mission in 1979, although I was really nervous about doing it. The people are nice, but in the end it is Hubbard's way or the highway, as Chris Shelton has pointed out with a humorous sign in his latest video. In my opinion, it is far worse now than it was back in the 1970's and 1980's. I left in 1990, and was only public, not staff. David Miscavige is running Scientology into the ground, although the Church has made lots of money during his tenure. The public image of the Church was bad in the 1970's and 1980's, and it is far worse now. I did make some case gain, however. Even so, the overall experience for me was not worth it.

@akronymus
@akronymus 7 жыл бұрын
@ Truth Seeker yes, 'creepy' is a good description. Still, 'demonic' things come out of the people themselves, a human needs no supernatural help to be evil. On the other hand - good thing - people do not need supernatural help to be good. Traveling odd regions, I always realized that where people live without fighting and serious competition, they are all decent and friendly. It is not demons that make earth a creepy place, it is people who do not know what love is, friendship, good times, good spaghetti, anything positive. Crowley was tortured at monastery school in young years, fought against everything (so-called or true) christian, I can understand this guy. Hubbard in my opinion was a living brain failure (still he wrote some quite good SF stories).
@akronymus
@akronymus 7 жыл бұрын
@ Truth Seeker creepy ... for sure ... I have spent quite some time reading about Crowley. Obviously, his personality was quite destroyed at a fundamentalistoc Evangelical boarding-school as a child - so he later started-up forming an anti-clerical mystical movement. It is all creepy, but probably half as creepy as the 'values' those »Plymouth Brethren« tried to imply into the children entrusted in their care. I don't think he was a bad guy at all, still he was dominant and spleenish. About Hubbard, I also read a lot. He was a crazy story-inventer, he wrote down whole novels without any break during a night and a day (and some of his SF stories are even good). He was envious on Crowley's fame, wanted to do same or better, at any cost. I doubt if he ever believed in his own religion he founded (let's call it a religion - regardless that most of it is nonsense - as it is something that entirely dominates their members' life). For me, he was a con-man, a liar, a perfect @-hole. May be a disturbed autistic mind, to say something kind of friendly. Calling something 'demonic' is a cheap excuse - humans can be very bad, worse than any demon in literature. Humans can as well be very good, not to forget, -- I prefer to spend my time with this kind. These people are not angels or essentially religious: it is everyone's own decision to behave in a way that other people love them. And it is everyoune's very own responsibility, not a thing about super-natural good or bad forces (this is why I don't like the »demon« thing). [sorry for repeating myself, trying to explain further]

It's obvious to me .. that some people get something out of scientology... ie.. communication courses etc. Sure you can get these else where .. However, my point is there are some good things in scientology for some people and of course, theres bad things. Scientology's problem is how it's run... one nail fits all approach, can't be wrong, can't adapt, if someone complains let them have their opinion..(don't dig through their garbage bin and stalk them , maybe you will learn someone by thinking about their complaint and whether it's got some merit), the crazy stalking, blackmail , cameras etc....they have to open it up a bit...give refunds if it doesn't work for someone, make it fun for their slaves.....let them have children, get to sleep, treat them kindly....otherwise it wont survive... David Mismanage has to man up.... fall on his sword.... let a reformation take place.. if it is to survive in the future... If Mismanage really believes in it..well some of it...he's got to see that it's needs to be changed and rebooted with another operating system...

You can't obliterate your own conscious and expect this to obliterate the consequences or the karma of ones thoughts and actions. They'll still be there. If had studied the Buddhist twelve links of interdependence there is such a thing, as acknowledge by Scientology itself as the obliteration of consciousness prior to being born, but you are still born with your "karma formations" which will in turn form your "conscience" and then this forms the six aggregates of your senses which has a lot to do with how you will see and experience the world. The Buddha was very scientific in this as acknowledged by L. Ron Hubbard himself. It is then rather odd that he acted in the manner that he did so as one might expect, there is a lot more to the story.

The sights, sounds, and smells Hubbard sensed WERE ACTUALLY there/real, but others were unaware of them because they lacked perception. Hubbard assisted Jack Parsons in his Babalon conjuring, and he remained a victim/pawn of these spirits for the rest of his life.

marion potts Yep, the back injury did him in. He said he could heal himself, but couldn’t. Amazing how his story and the account of Antiochus IV Epiphanes are so similar. The LORD struck Antiochus with a great pain in his bowels, he fell out of his chariot, and broke every bone in his body. The difference between them, or, one of them, is that after Antiochus IV had his comeuppance he began to acknowledge the LORD and promised to do many good things for Israel. Don’t know if L Ron Hubbard did repent or not, but, one day he will know the Truth.
