I never, ever thought about Rick James's style being similar to Eddie Levert's until now. Wow! Gerald is telling the truth.

0:12 - The sad irony in this interview clip is listening to the Late, Great, Legend, Gerald L., say "God Rest His Soul", (Rick James) and talking about a conversation he and Rick had, pointing out how "Everybody Is Gone", referring to the some of the GREAT Kings & Queens like himself.... RIP!

Wow!! I never noticed that, Rick James trying to flow like Eddie. And I would have loved to hear G sing "Fire And Desire"...I know that would have been incredible.

Rick James really had his own style I don't think he copied Eddie levert or Gerald in any kind of way . Rick James was very talented and he had a very strong voice ..no disrespect to Rick James and Eddie and Gerald levert they will always be legends in there times .. where is pt 2 of the interview
