RIP Mr. Gerald Levert. RIP Mr. Sean Levert. When my sister informed me of the passing of the teddy bear 🧸 I cried . The tragic and untimely passing of Gerald and Sean broke my heart. Mark love you too. RIP Hev! These men left their mark on the world. I had an opportunity to see Mr. Levert and Kelly Price perform along with LL Cool J while visiting my sister in Baltimore at free concert at one of the famous parks. Every time I think of King Gerald I smile and cry. I felt like he was family. He had an undeniable beautiful warm smile.

The late great Gerald Levert was the greatest soul singer of his generation he did create his own identity and his own distinct vocals similar to his old man but he has more improvisation than his dad he could also sing in falsetto please folks check out Gerald Levert on Closure, Baby You’re Funny and When it matter released as a Japanese bonus in Groove On.
@akeemhudson97692 жыл бұрын
Noooooooo lol Eddie was NO MF JOKE when it came to ad libs and improvisation….he has a catalogue of over 5 decades Gerald was a singular talent and as we now see a generational touchstone but paring him with his dad was almost like putting Rick James and Smokey together on a song Trust and believe Eddie was holding back lol
@omoniyikaye2 жыл бұрын
@@akeemhudson9769 Well I know when you’re coming from if Gerald was here today he would be the first to admit the huge influence from his dad and many other soul legends before him but as of his generation he was ahead of his time. His dad admitted he took the music game to another level he was an underrated songwriter and producer. He learned the game from the best he’s missed.

Great story telling. 👏🏾 . My favorite Gerald LeVert song 🎵 is "Whatever it takes" song by Anita Baker. Gerald LeVert wrote it. The words my God. What was he thinking and experiencing at the age of 22 or 24. Everytime I hear this song I get in my feelings and cry. I personally think when Whitney Houston (Our last cupid) and Gerald LeVert (Our last real crooner) died is when love music stopped. When black folks started falling out of love with each other and started a division. I personally think it systematic? It seemed like both artists love loved, wanted to be loved and wanted others to FEEL love. I miss good men (gentlemen), I miss love songs and I miss good love ❤️.

Them prison officers are devil's for treating Gerald Levert, brother like he is nothing. Seeing that footage of them man handling him on the floor made me cry. He was treated inhuman by them prison officers on purpose just because of who he was he got hated on for being a black man with a high profile. Whenever black entertainers fall from grace they always end up with no money which for me is crazy and not a coincidence. Gerald Levert, was such a blessed man he felt like he had to get back on the raod to make money to take care of not just himself, but all the other people around him in need that is amazing. But he needed to rest up and concentrate on his health first as health is wealth. But on a real this is why they say money is the route of all evil. I can see why his father was trying to protect him from the industry and all the pressure that comes with being famous.

Idk why I liked that song so much or what lil girl hurt my feelings but both songs were my ish 🤣🤣🤣🤣 so sad how we’ve lost so many unique voices. Him & Dino from H-Town were my favorites back in the day. Love this channel, definitely subscribing! Your voice is soothing lol 🖤

All my family is from various parts of OH: Akron, Cincy, Toledo and Cleveland. My Grandfather played the Bass, Drums, and Horns for Motown while my Grandmother was a back up singer in their earlier years in Detroit before moving to Ohio. My Mother grew up on the same street as the Levert Family and both of my Grandparents were friends of their Father, Mr. Eddie Levert. My family (Grandmother still is) grew up in “The Truth” aka as Jehovah’s Witnesses. Very small world.
