Gerald is my favorite fighter like Roy Jones Jr. Gerald left Emmanuel and went on to a new trainer. Gerald was injured in sparing against an Arab fighter. Gerald blacked out, that was a sign something was wrong, and his new trainer didn't pick up on it. The brain injury from sparring carried over into the Benn fight. If Gerald was with Emmanuel this would have never happened as Emmanuel was always watching and concerned about his fighters. I usually can't watch many documentaries or films about Gman but this was so scientific, it was beautiful. This guy really did his homework, ....well done!

Let’s take Mike Vick for instance-dude was coming up with new ways to execute the dogs as if he was bored of the old ways. People never hear the full and honest story about McClellan after the fight with Benn. McClellan made it out of the hospital relatively O.K after his brain injury. He would have never boxed again but he could have had a decent life after boxing only if he had listened and taken the doctor's advice! McClellan was told to wait for a year and not to get back on a plane to America because that air pressure could easily cause complications to his brain injury. At first, McClellan did heed the doctor's advice and stayed in England. After 6 mounts had passed, McClellan decided to fly back against the doctor's advice. unfortunately, McClellan would suffer complications and his brain swelled leaving him in the state he is in now!

His biggest wins were against a small middleweight with a suspect chin and his most well-known fight was the fight against Benn. Considering both Hopkins and Jones were his contemporaries @160 it's not all that surprisng that his talents are somewhat overlooked. If you can't beat Benn @168, you're certainly not going to beat Roy Jones at any weight, but I think he might've beaten Hopkins at that point in Bernard's career.
