It's really surprising to me that a company with a lowercase "i" at the beginning of their name (which calls to mind the hundreds of cheap, poor-quality Apple knockoffs) has a reputation for making solid, high-quality products. As always, Gerald, really appreciate the disclosures at the beginning of the video. I've been happy to see some other creators adopting the same style in their videos and I hope you continue to be a positive influence on creators across this platform!

I have a lot of IFootage gear - Slider, monopod, friction arm, tripods, Seastar quick releases. Everything they do is high quality. They are an impressive company. I would be tempted to buy their lights too, except I’ve already good for lights. I would love to see the 60DN Gen 2 be able to do spotlight like the Aputure 60X. It would make a great wedding video light then. But what IFootage is doing on their first gen looks very promising.

Another great video! That bowens adapter its super handy. That's the problem with Aputure 60d, the plastic overall and in the bowens mount. A sturdy bowens adapter that can support the light and the modifier is a must! I remember Caleb Pike has to mount clamps in front of 60d to put a larger modifier...

Many thanks for the excellent video - very helpful info, as usual. You know, Colbor has just released a whole line of 5 COB lights and no one is talking about it… There are three 60 watts (daylight, bicolour and RGB) and two 100 watts (daylight and bicolour). Have ever thought about making a video about them? They are cheap, light and small, and seem to have a good build quality… but I’m not sure about the light quality, noise standard and all the other extras. A video of yours would be excellent to clarify…

I am planning on evolving a dual use space one that can be used for video production but also one that is my home & can support my various physical disabilities. For example my current SAD lamps were made by Yongnuo & they have been unreliable & difficult to manage but good enough. However in 5 years Aputure/Amran have dropped in cost, so I have decided to standardise round their software/firmware and look for products that can fit into their universe So my question is - how do they inter-operate with Aputure/Amran gear?? As you've said they can inter-operate with DMX and that is my other option However I get the impression that DMX protocols are both more expensive & more capable but also less functional & intuitive than Aputure products. Do you have any videos looking at software that uses the DMX protocols to manage multiple proprietary/walled-garden products? My knowledge of DMX is so slight, that I know of its existence but barely anything more.

SmallRig RC120D is 3x cheaper than 320DN and more light output, 62,600 lux, vs 56,000. and has CRI 95, TLCI 96 vs 98, 99 (still pretty good).

10-15% brighter in most test cases. E.g. 320DN gets ~12500 lux at 1 meter with no reflector at 100%, where the 300d II gets about 10900 lux.

They look similar in size and shape, but these are obviously unique to iFootage. The photometric results prove they have achieved something very unique….. LED manufacturers have been aiming for these sort of color scores for like 20 years and ifootage seems to be the first one to crack it. Quite surprising and cool to see…

I watched a video by Carlos Quintero about LUTs and he started off saying it would be "technical but not as technical as Gerald Undone would do". And... it wasn't really very technical at all. My personal take away from his video is that LUTs are just sorta good guesses and that confuses me. I would figure a LUT for a specific camera by the manufacturer would be very precise. All that to say... can you do a video on LUTs. 1D Luts, 3D Luts, 3D 17grid, 33 grid, 65 grid... blah blah blah... What's it all about Alfie? I did watch your video "How to Correct Log & HLG Footage & Make LUTs" and I think I understand but still feel rather queasy about the whole topic. E.g. If I want to load a LUT into my camera, what type do I need. I've seen two references that say it must be a 33grid. Why?

Thanks for the disclosure information. Did you work out this policy yourself or is their a resource for KZbin creators to explain the sort of advertising models available, how much the market charges, etc. I can well believe that their is no channel just dealing with this sort of creator information as I see plenty of creators who I like a lot fighting to deal with all the back end pressure. I have also seen lots of creators explaining the pressures placed on them when they are trying to grow their channels. A classic example is Tom Scott. Then their is the whole business of Arts funding in local countries, tax write-offs for production costs to help movie business's, grants & fundraising all of which is aimed at production companies who serve the 'real' TV & Movie Business. Any advice would be welcome, because whilst I am currently to disabled to be a creator, I can try to help other creators, get the weight off their backs. Thanks

Still trying to getting my head around ifootage’s “new” emitter with its lower (probably filtered) blue spectrum. Seem’s tailor made for KZbinr understanding of light metrics (get out the sekonic, and higher is better). This filter they’ve assumedly put on this chip hasn’t fixed anything. Leds are notoriously week in their violet output, so that blue spike is there to amplify the nearest part of the spectrum… to get some semblance of deeper blues. Filtering it out does nothing… except raise comparative scores like SSI and spectrum analysis (it’s not producing better colors anywhere in that spectrum, just less middle blues). That said, at least in this test… the color looks good, but I’d want to see a side by side white balanced chart+skin tone comparison with say an Aputure and a prolycht or Arri to see if this hype is even remotely real.
