Geralt Kills Two Witchers: Serrit and Auckes vs King Henselt (Witcher 2 | Boss Fight)

When he first heard Auckes' name, the witcher had no idea who this was. Hah - he did not have the slightest inkling of the role this individual would play in our story. The assassin's identity was revealed only after his death. The accomplice of Letho and Serrit fell at Geralt's hand, but his memories provided very important information. The kingslayers responsible for the deaths of Foltest and Demavend, as well as the attempt on Henselt, had played a game of their own, in which both Síle and Iorveth had been pawns. Furthermore, it seemed that they and Geralt shared a common past.
Sometimes a person's name sinks into memory and brings fear to one's heart at its first mention. Who was the mysterious Serrit? What goals drove him and what role would he play? Geralt had yet to learn all of this. The vision of Auckes' memories lifted the veil of secrecy surrounding the other kingslayer. Serrit had also been acting on Letho's orders, and all three had been behind the deaths of Foltest and Demavend, as well as the attempt on Henselt. Serrit could certainly answer more questions, and Geralt knew where to find him. Unfortunately, Síle found the assassin first. With his dying words, however, he confirmed de Tansarville's complicity in their conspiracy, as well as the fact that he knew Geralt. Serrit died before saying anything more, leaving the mystery unsolved.

That was a sad moment in the game: Geralt killing 2 friends (he didn't remember them due to his memory loss). This is why Witchers shouldn't get involved in politics. Because of their superhuman abilities, as soon as one monarch employs Witchers as assassins and spies, others will also hire Witchers to protect themselves. End results: Witchers killing Witchers.

+Aaron Brougham If I remember right, the School of the Cat were the ones who had fallen to assassins a long time ago, but Letho made a deal with the Emperor of Nilfgaard to revive his school (School of the Viper) by at least temporarily becoming his assassins. So the School of the Viper was to be the second witcher school to fall. That's one of the main reasons I killed Letho: I didn't trust that the Nilfgaardians would stop using the School of the Viper in that way, and I didn't want to see witchers become weapons for kings. The other nations would put pressure on their own witcher schools to follow the Cat and Viper's lead. The second reason I killed him was because I had promised Roche I would, and didn't want to betray his trust (I had already gone Scoia'tael, but I really liked Roche and the Blue Stripes, too). And I liked Foltest. :( But even still, it was a really hard decision to make since Letho was just *trying* to revive his school and he had done you a big favor in the past.

Mages meddle in politics, and they're more powerful then Witchers. Anyway I've always strongly sided with the Scoia'tael and felt conflicted about it. Sure they are terrorist in a way, and sure they're capable of the same cruelty of men. But they're facing extinction, and I'm willing to kill lots of humans to prevent that, also fellow Witchers if it's necessary.

CJake3 we will, its been confirmed. One of the soundtracks is called Kaer Morgen valley. Also, I feel really bad killing serrit auckes and Letho, after all, everything they did was to build them a place for all Witchers free from the world but if you spare Letho, he will reappear in TW3 as an ally, and he would definitely be handy when the wild hunt comes.

I appreciate how the player behind the wheel of Geralt actually fought like he did in the books by using his superhuman speed to circle around or put distance between him and more powerful or outnumbering foes to separate or disorient them then sweep in quick and lethal before maneuvering away to do so again while fighting like a Signslinging demon swordsman-ballerina. Vipers dual wield, it's sorta their schools thing. Them not using signs might just be a case of them not being that proficient at them. Witchers themselves are tragedy, their craft is the thing that leads to their extinction. The more monsters they hunt causing the monsters to reduce in the population. Humans will start looking for new monsters, in the face of nonhumans, mages, sorcerers and of course the witchers. The human hunt for witchers, caused some of them to abandon their craft, and to become mercenaries and assassins.

Lol Geralt only killed one of them (Auckes, the hooded one that we play as). Serrit and Auckes definitely seemed underdeveloped to me, and provided too little a challenge to Geralt, in my opinion. Despite being witchers, they're so far behind the level of Geralt and Letho that it feels ridiculous, as though it was for gameplay reasons. It would be cool if Geralt was losing and was then joined by Sile or Dethmold to continue fighting them and eventually win, or something like that. Anything that didn't make these witchers feel like complete noobs.

I believe Serrit and Auckus are way younger and less experienced. Letho is over 120 years old and Geralt is 96 in Witcher 2 they both have much more experience, Serrit and Auckus are both under 60 years old for sure.

seffard you say it, the combat evolved, every new game is a huge improvement to the previous. to your second point, it is not bad that you can get trapped, it is realistic and forces you actually to pay attention to your environment where you fight (holding your sword, concentrate on your opponent(s) - it is not easy to vault over something) . what i dont like, if i actually want to escape, i cannot "turn down" combat mode - and cant jump over anything, because the dodge mode is still active - well yes, this is annoying. something like combat/no combat mode from assassins creed would be useful there.

seffard Do you seriously call the combat stupid/inconsistent, just because there is a realistic element in it? Of cource you have to pay attention, where you are, when you fight. But even in this game, you are not really "forced" to do this - tere are some overpowered things, which make the combat extremely easy, even on deathmarch difficulty - signs! Use quen - even if you dodge into your opponent and take one hit, you take no damage. or use the axii puppet - very overpowered, you dont need to do anything, just chill somewhere and cast it. or use aard to push everything away, and and and... i don't see the point, why the combat should made easier and let everyone jump over everything - it's not prince of persia or assassins creed. I agree, it would be practical to be able to jump over 20 cm obstacle, but it is not really necessary

Witcher’s use signs but from what I’ve heard in the books they have to drink a potion to make it possible. That is second-hand information though, I’m only on The Last Wish, so don’t take that as fact. It is useful to have it as a gameplay mechanic with different criteria though rather than having to use a potion.
