That was primetime el clasico, what helped the hype was that in the last month of 2011 season they faced eachother 4 times in one month. One cupfinal, a league game and two ucl semi finals. Then the new season started of with a supercopa over two legs, crazy games as well. This is the peak of the rivalry and tension between Barca and Real I have ever seen in my liferime

One thing that he said that makes the most sense.. Spain played the same possession style as Barca and won.. Germany played the same possession style as Bayern and won in 2014.. Possession football was in the air in La Liga in the 00s. The Spanish National Team played like that since at least 2006 under the coach Luis Aragonés (an Atlético Madrid legend and a very respected coach in Spain), Pep Guardiola began coaching Barça in the 2008-2009 season after the 2008 Euros. Guardiola's approach may have been the best example of it, but he didn't invent the style and the National Team didn't copy him.

The French team was a unbelievable team that won the World Cup and Euro’s and the Dutch team was a great team but the England team was a team that was just unlucky to have such soft sending off decisions and losing to penalty shootout in games they were the better team. The tournaments that we had Owen and Rooney were the best players in and they got injured in. The game that Beckham was sent off for his poor reaction and the team that played the rest of the match and extra time was robbed by a disallowed goal by the referee, so the golden generation of England was a top class team which was playing against some of the best teams at international level in Europe. Spain France Portugal Germany and Belgium just to name a few

Love me some Busquets love. One of the best cdms of all time. Probably wouldn't have been if he played for a counter attacking team what would transition back and forth a lot, sure.. But for Barcelona, wow what a player. Never loses the ball, always there at the right spot. You could do quick 1-2's with him no matter how much pressure the opposition would apply, and he would always bring the ball out safely. Favorite cdm ever, for me.

They’re really good friends off the pitch, Pique just likes to banter, but as you can see here and every other interview that he’s given, there’s a difference between him bantering and him talking seriously. The fact that Ramos invited him to his wedding (he invited only people he considered a close friend) and featured him in his documentary says a lot about their relationship.

England's main issue is offensive composure against contenders. Against tier 2 teams and below England usually blows them out of the water but we saw them play against France and Italy when they were in good form and we saw England's struggle to move forward convincingly and run together with back up to create more options to finish a play. Southgate NEEDS offensive coaches to create a coherent attack plan against the tough teams and then I can comfortable say England can be the favorites.

Holland was decent in the last WC. If they didn't face Argentina I had no doubt they would have reached the finals but possible not win the game. Spain, Germany, and Italy are in a transition phase with Portugal having the same issue as England with having good players not playing at their maximum potential as a team. The game with Argentina vs Holland in ET convinced me Argentina was going to win the WC because they had excellent offensive teamwork; possibly the best in the tournament. Re-watch that if you have forgotten because this is exactly what England lacks against strong teams

Pique under pep and slightly after was the best defender in the world. Period. When Leo Sergio iniesta n Xavi controlled 90% of the game and then after that with saurez Leo etc. but from 2018 onwards pique was absolutely woeful. Not knowing englands history and assuming. And also his off field issues. He’s a shadow of his former self. He was too slow passes it and distracted and he ended his Barca career in tears but awful as a player. But he was all round a way better defender in his prime than what people give him credit for. Course there was tension by Madrid they were known for that because they weren’t as good as Barca in those years so they had to create something. Never forget the 5-0 win etc for Barca against Madrid and pique was fab! Jose and ronaldo and Ramos tried to cheat their way to a goal but still got a hammering! That was the real Barca, judt too much class! On the other hand - Darren bent is awesome to listen to! Proper like the guy! He doesn’t age at all! The other guy in the middle who speaks total bull is just mad on Man U and it gets in the way !
