Picked one of these up probably a year ago and it's been my EDC ever since too, and although I don't give it the heaviest use it has held up fine. Even the spring seems fine with the same speed of deployment. I've seen some older reviews complain of weak springs and I'm curious if it was just an issue with the plastic handle versions they used to make, because as long as you press the button firmly this one comes out snappy every time.

I actually just returned this knife. I wasn't happy with the action I noticed yours was kind of slow too mine was slow but it was even sometimes not opening all the way and locking. When compared to other Gerber knives a friend of mine had like 06 auto Tonto serrated man that thing popped out so fast that had some action on the handle lol like that thing comes out quick. So I don't know if there's something wrong with my knife but for 170 bucks I wasn't really willing to find out why the action was so slow. I'll let you know when I received the new knife if it's any different. If it wasn't for the action I would have kept it beautiful knife well worth the money

Ive got the same problem. Was thinking about trying to replace the spring but don't feel I should have to for a knife over $150. Not sure what to do.

@@scramblinsam and not because I was trying to take advantage of it it was just because they kept giving me the same s*** product every time and they were all different kinds of issues one was bent another the black material or coating was like dripping off of it. It was to the point where I was like are you giving me brand new knives and they're like yeah. I hate to say this but their quality control is absolutely garbage. There's really no way around it I've now had four or five knives maybe with the fifth one on its way and the quality control is so inconsistent it's kind of sad because I want to support an American company. Now I will tell you a buddy of mine has the 06 Auto Tonto serrated and the action on his is stupid fast and I don't know if he just got lucky or what but I mean it has some mean torque on it. And I will say that they do improve over time but he hasn't had his maybe a month longer than I bought mine. I've noticed my knives improved with the action but not the way his feels so I'll let you know when I get the Tonto in how it works

@@scramblinsam today I received my 06 Auto Tonto serrated and let me tell you it's a huge difference in the action on this knife and the drop point. This knife works way better much sharper and the action is incredible very strong very fast.

I have a cheap gerber.... but I sharpened it directly.... now I will bet you my gerber is sharper then that knife... also it's my edc and I only have to sharpen it every year. BTW I am a sailor and the VERY BEST working knifes are the ridiculous cheap mora knives, have been using them now more then 20 years and with Normal usage only bought 2. an now chief engineer speaking😉

Mine was like this at the store. They need breaking in. I bought one and the dude couldn't open infront of me. Do what I did was I aired it out with my air compressor and then I oiled it with barron grease with a very thin coat. Thing opens quick now. They need breaking in.

I really dig that knife. Commiefornia says I can’t legally carry it but I would rock it daily just out of spite. What they don’t seem to understand is that 2A applies to everything from rocks to knives to guns and even “mil spec” weapons which means I can carry whatever the hell I want
