440c, or 9cr and I'd have bought this. I've been looking for a small EDC fixed blade, that design is actually really nice, but the materials are just sub par, I hope its dirt cheap.

Look into Buck’s new Alpha Scout Elite. It’s what you’re looking for. Just got mine, it’s flawless. 0.14” thick Magnacut at 64HRC, high-panel flat grind, G10 handle, kydex sheath.

At least we are seeing some effort out of Gerber imports. I like the design. Sheath looks pretty nice. Don't love 440 steel, but I prefer it over the 7cr the pump out...which is the very worst example of a barely adequate steel. 440C would have made this an awesome buy at the price. I'll wait for the reviews.

Does it come with a small pouch for your pocket ? It says so in the video and shows him puttint it into his pocket not in the leather sheath. I would love to have it pocketable is this the case ?

If I’m doing pocket carry, I’d like the option of being able to clip it so that I can easily access the knife without digging in my pocket and pulling the whole sheath out. And re-sheathing the knife? What a pain in the ass! The stiffness of the secure loop makes it very difficult to get the knife back in without cutting up the sheath. And it certainly can’t be done while the sheath is still in your pocket. Also that secure loop makes the whole package pretty bulky when it’s in the pocket. Not a big deal but not ideal. A simple kydex sheath with a belt loop and grommet holes so that I can mount an Ulti-Clip or C-Clip etc would have been far better. You guys have a great little EDC fixed blade on your hands, but this sheath is probably what’s repelling a lot of people from buying it. Not only does it suck to use, it’s UGLY. Please do better.

If done correctly, though, you can sharpen 440 on almost any flat stone. That isn't something you can do with crucible steel.

Was gonna buy it then I saw the steel. 440 is unacceptable in 2022. VG-10 or AUS-10 if you are going to cheap out.

I mean it's $40 full tang fixed blade w/ micarta and a leather sheath. Appears to have good finishing and a cool design. That's a great deal.

I agree that 440 but those others are still quality non pm steels that still perform. I know people are getting spoiled, but it's not like we can expect S30V for 50 bucks yet

Why would you fixed-knife a so small knife? There is no need to it. It would use less space and be more comfortable as a folding knife. It would even cut the same package film or box as that fixed nonesense 🤔 You won't be batoning or whatever with that small thing
