Hey man. I also have lpr. Pretty similar symptoms as you. Im a musician and had to quit singing because my vocal cords were so irritated. I have a lot of great songs that i never got to release pubicly. It does suck not being able to do things that were once simple, but like you said, hopefully in the near future, we will get real concrete treatment for lpr. I don't want to lose my music because now i have kids and i want to show them that i never gave up. I remember saying to my dad id take going blind or losing a leg over having lpr because its so difficult to breathe lol.

Yup, hang in there. I can relate a lot to the “ I would rather have” thoughts. I hope you can return to your singing. It sucks to lose something that you are passionate about. What’s your current plan on trying to deal with LPR?

@@TheBounceBack1996 I'm not sure exactly what plan I have. I pretty much changed my diet like a year and a half ago. My throat symptoms are much better now, but just the slightest thing can certainly make me start to wheeze. I can't really afford to go get more testing done. My parents are the only help I have and I felt like a year ago I was just having them take me to my appointments constantly. I felt like an annoyance.

@@sombertone4798 Definitely understand that. I let mine get out of hand. I had my symptoms start two years ago but they were minor and only in the morning after a night out on the town. Then they started to escalate and happened after an hour after big meals. Then slowly alcohol nor lots of food had to be involved. When I was in the Police Academy it would affect my breathing a lot and I’m a pretty fast runner. But I ignored it and let it get this bad. My advice is take the time now to do everything you can for it. I wish I could go back in time and fix it a lot sooner before it got out of hand like this.

@@TheBounceBack1996 yeah im kinda in the same boat. I've had reflux since I was younger, I thought since a lot of people had it, it wasn't that big a deal lol. What testing should I have done to get to the root cause?

Dude I can't eat anything that isn't a liquid meal replacement. I've always had acid reflux but this constant gas lPR thing that I think I have now in my lungs causes mucus, breathing issues, swollen throat and feeling that something is in the back of my throat and struggling to swallow anything other than pure liquid or applesauce. My friend's dad prescribed me dexilyn probably spelled it wrong but it was 300 for 3 month supply which helps with acid reflux but not LPR constant gas, swelling and hot sweats fever symptoms. I don't have insurance and getting a ENT appointment with someone with great reviews is next to impossible in Virginia Beach. I literally quit smoking cigarettes and cannabis and still can't eat anything without choking. I've always had some symptoms but never as extreme as I have now to where I can't eat real food

@@user-pt9rc4rb8z I’m sorry bro that is rough. Low acid diet doesn’t help either?

@@user-pt9rc4rb8z Also I would look into eoe if I were you brotha. It’s a disease that can mimic lpr and definitely effects the swallowing when flared up.
