Here’s a crazy thought, she’s technically the leader of the Spice Girls, if she had chosen to just simply do the interview, then there’s nothing they could’ve done to stopper in reality, you can’t force your way through a locked metal door. It wasn’t I would say that the interview made her want to leave, it was just the perfect excuse to get out when she felt suffocated.

So she replaced being a Spice Girl to sing a hideous song & cringey solo act?! She’s so trying hard on this. I remember hating her so much for ruining the Spice Girls to pursue a selfish solo career.

Sad how people think running after their dreams is selfish I love the space and I hated that she left but I would if never wanted to hold her back she needed to do what's best for her and any real fan of the spice girls should of understand that it would if been selfish for anybody to want her to stay for them because that's just not caring what she wanted and that's just not caring if she is happy

@Coffee Addict You know nothing about how she felt, about her eating disorders, her depression, her friction with Mel B at the time after being more than close with her before. She did not ruin anything. Victoria and Mel b got pregnant and were about to take extended breaks after the tour to give birth, take care of their kids and get married anyway whether she was in the group or not. If anything she seemed more honest, instead of dragging Spice Girls for another 3 years without really caring too much like the rest of the girls, she left and launched solo a year later. Mel C admitted she did not want to be a Spice Girls post 1998, so if anything it makes Geri less of a hypocrite.

Listen, I'm glad she left the spice girls when she did because if she didnt, then she wouldn't have launched a fantastic solo career, there would be no bag it up and it's raining men, both of them went to number one by the way in case you don't know much about her. And I prefer her as a solo artist than being in the spice girls actually, and anyway the spice girls would take a hiatus anyway at the end of 1998 if she had stayed, and then of course we would make way for new exciting pop groups like Steps and S Club 7.

I remember being so angry with her when she left the band. Being a kid I didnt understand why, just remember she ruined a great creation in music and shattered the whole Spice mania at the time. It's only when I got older I started to see it differently. She was ill, battling many demons and needed space to heal from a whirlwind time in her life. There are many reasons for her choice to leave. We may never get the truth but I now give Geri the break she deserved. She was human, making adult decisions. She has apologised and readily admits she made a mistake. If she hadn't left one of the other girls would have Spice World was coming to an end it was just a matter of who jumped ship first and Geri was always labelled the blame. Mel C and Victoria where already thinking about the end. It is well documented since.

@@NM-ex3ws I had no idea that she was battling her own demons that’s terrible 😞she is a strong woman she did the right thing to leave the Spice Girls if she didn’t she’s not gonna make it this far I’m happy for her 😊😁
